Nor-Am opened its' doors in 1999, but our love affair with cold storage goes back to the early 1980's. Our founder, Greg Brandt, was in his early 20's with a young wife and three very young kids. Farming was slow in the winter, so he took a night job working on the dock in a cold storage to help make ends meet. It was supposed to last six months or less, nice try.

By the time fall harvest was done, he had moved to a supervisor position and had officially caught the cold storage bug. Greg worked his way up from being a seasonal dock worker to owning his own cold storage.

Nor-Am has grown a lot since 1999. We are proud of focus on Continuous Improvement and invest in our future. While we still think of ourselves as the new kids on the block, we are fully equipped to meet our customers' needs. That start-up mentality keeps us adaptable. Our bread and butter. Warehousing is where our story began and where we continue to excel.

Not only do we provide warehousing services in Le Mars, it is also home to our Pro-Visions Packing Company. Pro-Visions is a full-service meat repackaging facility. From standard tempering, specialized labeling to kitting, we are here to provide creative packaging solutions. As native Northwest Iowans, Sioux City will always have a special spot in our hearts.

Nor-Am was founded around our family's kitchen table. Ensuring that our employees are able to take care of their families, and that they feel like a part of ours will always be at the center of what we do. In our opinion; family trusts each other, they do the right thing even when it's hard, they assume good intentions, they change plans and priorities when needed for the good of the group, and occasionally, they even cut each other a little slack.That's how we work. We know it's not typical in the bottom line driven world that we live in, but it works for us.
