My wife and I moved today using this company. Mark and Kwane were extremely fast, courteous, and professional. They were very careful with our belongings and they HUSTLED. I had a good experience with student movers, the communication was transparent and quick. The guys who did the actual moving worked quick and effective, both in terms of moving furniture or its (dis)assembly. I'd opt for this service again in the future.

Came at the exact time that was decided on. Very professional. Movers worked very fast and made sure that all items were carried carefully. They were very well mannered and thought of ways to carry even difficult items. Stefan was very responsive and adaptable. Had to change the date at the last minute and he immediately found us another day and time. Can't recommend student movers enough for all moving needs.

I had a great experience with the student movers! Easy communication upfront, timely arrival and all my stuff was moved easily and without trouble! I can definitely recommend Stephan and his team!

I found Student Movers deceitful and lacking in integrity. Communication was awful, they damaged many items and refused to reimburse for the damage. When they did communicate they were either incompetent or outright lied. I would never use them again and would advise anyone to look for alternate moving or storage companies.

So, you think moving is no big deal, you hire a cheap truck, ask your friends for help, get pizza and beer and you are moved. Well, if you are mid 30s and a full time working professional, think again. Your friends can help you with other stuff but leave the heavy work to these guys. You will not be sorry. They took huge weight off my shoulders and I was able to focus on other 3000 things I need to do instead of suffering from a bad back. Worth the money, great service and I loved the fact that I got go arrange everything in the evening hours/ through an app. Great job guys!

Friendly but ineffective: I contacted StudentMovers for a house move to Germany and after a friendly phone call I got an invoice with a fair price. However, when I wanted to confirm the moving date I was left high and dry. I tried to get a confirmation over the phone (nobody picks up), email (no answer) and facebook ("message seen."). After 3 days of unsuccessful attempts to get a confirmation, I eventually booked with another company. Unfortunately a waste of time.

Very good moving service! Done in time, all facilities (carts, etc) are provided. Worker is very strong and eager to do his job! I will use it again if necessity comes.

Do not use these guys! Flaked on the day they were scheduled and my friend had no help at all. She was left holding the bag and had to scramble and call mere acquaintances to help. We were only prepared to help move the big stuff but ended up moving all of her stuff since Student Movers dropped the ball. My friend said they bailed on the day they were to show up with a lame food poisoning excuse.

Not cool. If Student Movers were at least professional they could have let my friend know so she could make other arrangements. Five of us acquaintances ended up doing all the work and now all five of us will tell all of our friends to stay away from Student Movers. That's a lot of lost customers. It's too bad because I will need to hire a mover sometime next year. Could have been them!

I was quoted one price then it was 300$ more! They took 3 hrs over the time it should have when the last movers from 2 men and a truck took 2 1/2 hrs to move me, my two kids and boyfriend the same distance and 500$ less! This time it was only me and my daughter with half the boxes ajd furniture. I was so angry when they were moving 1 box at a time, men over 50 yrs old and dragging their feet.

I lost my job anf my apt. I couldnt afford to go over budget and only had enough that was quoted. When it went over 300$ more it took my entire unemployment check! Never use them. They show up 2 hrs late then go on errands and charge you the overtime!

The crew that did our move were careless, reckless and unprofessional. They destroyed a very expensive marble top dining room table and severely damaged a cherry writing desk. The person that scheduled our move assured us that they were "bonded and insured". What a joke that turned out to be. After promising to "repair" the marble table (the top was broken into several pieces when they mishandled it), they moved the pieces of broken marble into our new home and refused to help get the remains taken to the dump.

They had me sign a document after the fact that limited their liability to 60 cents per pound which amount to a fraction of the replacement cost of the table. Lots of promises, little follow through, very unprofessional company with poorly trained employees. Would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. Proceed at your own risk!

EDIT: 9/14/15 Was double charged for my move and has become a bit of a pain to reverse the charge. I would still recommend for a move, but do not fill out paper work when your stuff arrives if you have already paid, you will be double charged. Student Movers stored and delivered my mattress and box spring which was shipped across country from Chicago. Tracy was great in communicating and arranging delivery times and the movers arrived right on time and moved the mattress and box spring in very quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend based on my experience!

My sister had used this company several years ago when when she moved into her one bedroom apartment and had felt they did a good job. So when she had to move out of her apartment she called them again and got a quote, which she accepted with an appointment set up for a Friday morning move. Then suddenly on the Wednesday morning before the move they told her they were a bit overbooked and they wouldn't be able to move her on Friday, but could either due it Saturday, which looked like it would cost a bit extra per hour, or they could try and make arrangements to get her help moving.

By 3 in the afternoon she had not heard back even though she had called several times asking for a status. We had to scramble since she had to be moved out of the apartment by the end of the day that Friday. Luckily found another company (http://www.youmoveme.com) who very graciously set up an appointment and not only showed up early but got the job done for about half of what Student Movers wanted.

We learned later that Student Movers got bought out by a major company (http://buehlercompanies.blogspot.com/2012/02/9-news-tonight-will-reveal-surprise.html), and from what we can tell the service has gone rapidly downhill since then. So I would NOT recommend this firm to anyone.

This is a sad review for me to write because I have been using Student Movers for years. In the past, always a positive experience. No longer. We used them for a move recently. I bought their extra insurance against the wishes of the moving crew. It's a good thing I did. Without fail, they seriously damaged EVERY fragile and expensive piece we had asked them to be careful with. Now, the salesman (Mark Muelot) who was your best friend until he got your money, won't even return calls.

I have had to deal with an out of state insurance carrier (Vanliner) who has been jerking me around for over 3 months as I'm trying to get a settlement that reflects something approaching the damage they caused. They took my dining chairs, which they said they had new bags intended to move dining chairs in, and manhandled them to the point they must be reupholstered.

They cracked, scratched and chipped the lacquer finish on my piano and on my dining table. They completely destroyed a hand carved arm on my sofa and they scratched walls, ripped cushions, broke glass, etc. When I called the office to report the damage on the day of the move, the moving crew, who had been friendly til that point, became pissy and unhelpful.

I found out later that damage costs partially get deducted from what they are paid. If that was the case, you'd think they would be more careful since it would affect their take home pay. One important thing to note is that the positive reviews are not that new. These guys USED TO be great. I hope they can change it around and become the pros they used to be. For now, I would not recommend them for any move where you may have valuable or breakable items.

This review is based on a mixed experience. I had to move out of my home for ten days. Karl and Wade moved my belongs into my garage as if it was their own property. They were also very efficient. Returning the property to my house was a terrible experience. There were deep scratches to four areas of my floors from mishandling the furniture. A couch had $255 worth of damage because it was raised up on one end and pulled across the garage floor.

Because of Student Movers policy they will not cover the entire cost of repair. However, repair of the walls and door frames will be taken care of by Student Movers. This could have been prevented if the original two people I requested plus a third were sent out. I made this request three times to two different people and still two inexperienced movers came to my house.

I even spoke to Nick in dispatch that day about my request. Tom Bradford, the general manager, has been helpful resolving things. He had to intervene a few times because Mark Muelot who works in the claims area talks at you and not with you. I had to hang up on Mark one time because he was being verbally abusive. Finally, the hardwood floor company found another scratch but SM is only willing to pay another "good faith" $250.

The repairs will be approx $400 plus hotel and dog care as I have to move out for another five days. This little misadventure will cost me about $ 900 out of pocket because of things they won't cover. I cannot recommend this company because the quality of the service is too inconsistent.

I used student movers recently and was very happy with them. They showed up on time, the 2 guys worked non stop loading up the truck, packing up items nicely. They drove directly to the new house and unloaded efficiently. They worked hard and did a great job. I would highly recommend them.

Basically, I got two guys and a truck. They worked hard and were willing to move things where I wanted. They were as careful with my stuff and I will use them again in the future. In regards to some of the reviews, I've come to the conclusion that some people are just born to bitch.

I was hesitant after reading reviews AND my own personal experience several years ago, but out of sheer desperation, I called them the day before and.they were not only exactly the same time I wanted/needed them, but absolutely professional, took great care of my stuff, and didn't do ANYTHING I feared. In fact, I easily could have upped my quoted price MYSELF (I talked a LOT, I made them to much more than I anticipated, I offered them drinks, I gave them very bad directions, etc.) but instead?

It was cheaper than I was prompted on the phone. I didn't go with them to my destination and when I arrived, my stuff was packed neatly, smartly, and exactly where I needed it to be. HERE'S the MOST IMPORTANT PART.and something definitely worth knowing.these movers are sent out in teams. Some teams? NOT GOOD (as with my prior experience) but this team?

Mark and Cade? My heroes. If you can get Mark and Cade to be your movers (they came out of the Denver location), you will be totally relieved, satisfied, and secure. Mark and Cade turned a very difficult, anxiety-laden situation for me into a (gasp) pleasurable and affordable one! Thanks, guys!

My fiance & I used Student Movers on June 27, 2012 for a move. After many phone calls with Student Movers after our move (see original review), they agreed to refund us a small part of what we paid them since they so grossly underestimated how much their services would cost. After our paperwork "fell through the cracks" and their accounting department kept overlooking our refund, we finally received the amount owed to us on August 13, 2012. While we appreciate receiving the money they promised to refund us, I cannot believe it took nearly 6 weeks to close out this transaction. Truly disappointing.

AWFUL! I was helping my sister move on a Saturday - a very typical day to move. Student Movers were amazing up until the actual move. They were set to arrive at 12:00 on Saturday, and call when they were on their way. When 12:30 rolled around and there was no word from them we call the office and sales rep - both went to a voice mail. Several more calls were placed until 2:30 when we decided to rent a U-Haul. (Which you can hire movers through U-Haul - which were the only positive part of the day) Finally Student Movers called 3 hours late, were pissed that we found new movers and hung up on us. Moving is stressful enough without rude and inconsiderate movers. I would highly advise against ever using a company that believes this behavior is acceptable.

PROS: When I called to schedule the move they were able to squeeze me in pretty quickly. Beggars can't be choosers--they were cheap and ended up charging me less than they quoted me! Awesome sauce. The actual movers that came were rad and they moved stuff pretty quickly. CONS: The guy on the phone gave me a specific time but they showed up a full hour after this time and told me that they are supposed to give you a "time window." The guy driving the van wasn't real good with directions--I had to tell him where my new place was like three times and he ended up just following me (it's downtown at some pretty major cross-streets so that was.special.) I don't know overall it was pretty painless they got all my ish moved quickly and safely but I would have liked them showing up when I was told they would and maybe them having their own gps?

I used this moving company a couple of years ago and was actually reading reviews about resturants when I decided to post my experience. basically this is what happened 1. movers showed up a couple of minutes late and charged me as if they were on time 2. nice guys but when i was helping and trying to save time and money by bringing some things to the side of the truck, they acted put out and pissed off. 3. still being helpful and understanding i had them move a small safe, and to make it lighter i took the door off, not realizing i had left a small box inside. the box contained a gold pocket watch, couple of rings and misc items. not sure how much the watch was worth and i was more nostalgia to me than monatary value i did not notice that this was missing until a couple of days later 4. they loaded up the van and i met them at my new address which was maybe a 10 min drive. they left first and while driving down colfax i saw that they had stopped at mcdonalds. it was more than just a quick stop, when i asked them what took so long their reply was " drove slow to make sure nothing would be damaged" im an easy going guy and figured oh well. 5. all in all i ended up loosing the small b ox from the safe and a 32 inch tv which was old and i dont think they stole it but i think they broke it and tossed it 6. the worse part of it was i tipped them 7. when i called and spoke to someone, the basic response was if i had purchased their insurance i could make a claim, but i was basically "shit out of luck" 8. i mentioned that i had tipped and the manager never offered to return it.

We hired Student Movers to pack ABF U-pack trailers for a move from Denver to Atlanta and partially pack the remaider of our household goods into boxes for the move. They did a good job packing up the household goods into boxes, but did a horrible job of packing the trailers for the move. When the trailers were unloaded at our Atlanta house many items were damaged due to poor loading of the truck.

Our formal dining room table legs were shattered due to Student Movers loading boxes on top of the table and our couch was torn and damaged since they did not cover it with furniture pads. We hired another company in Atlanta to unload the trailers and they said it was the worst loading of a trailer they had ever seen by another company. When we contacted Student Movers for just the base coverage on the broken and damaged goods they would not even pay the base insurance coverage provided with the move. I would never recommend this company even to my worst enemy!

The movers from this place that showed up to move me were nice enough but I think they were not experienced with moving other peoples things. They seemed reckless and while moving they stacked several heavy comic boxes on each other( a no no!) and one of the boxes broke and comic books were all over one side of the apartment building where the movers started cursing and the like.

They used another box I had and threw the comics in haphazardly. Try looking elsewhere for a mover. If you are moving north out of Denver near Fort Collins Little Guys Movers are great! I have used them twice!

I am actually surprised that no one has Yelped these cats yet. Hands down the best movers/rental place in D-town. I have used them twice for local truck rentals. The service was fast and friendly, the truck was clean and in great shape. A shout out to Josh, who took care of me on both occasions. I highly recommend using these guys! (I mean, of course, if you need a rental truck or movers. Not just for no reason whatsoever.)
