Do not use this knock off, low budget competitor of PODS. Ordered online with no problem. Received a callback hours later being told they were going to cancel my appointment because the appointment time the application let me choose was unavailable and there was nothing they could do to accommodate me. After calling back to file a complaint, my appointment was rescheduled and then delivered ahead of the date requested. Chris the driver was amazing but that's where the good customer service ends because the box was in extremely poor quality.

I sent a message directly to the rep who rescheduled me and told me to contact her if I had any questions. no response! Within that week, I decide to get a quote so that I can know the approximate costs to relocate. Get the quote and forward it to the rep. still no response. Called 4 times to leave a message and decided to sit on the phone and wit today because the date I need my items is getting closer and closer. Called back and ended up getting the young lady who was the one who originally canceled my order, much better attitude this time around.

She advised me that it was on the rep that didn't respond so I requested a callback from a supervisor. Fast forward an hour and Lauren McNeil calls me back offering me a date 26 days out for delivery. I'm supposed to start work next week with my items that are in the Smartbox I've been reaching out to be shipped since 06/16. Now Lauren's stating the 7/20 is the best they can do and then has the nerve to become belligerent because she's tired of me asking what Smartbox is going to do to accommodate me and their reps dropping the ball.

She offered me $100 off of a $2400 bill. Then proceeded to refer to me as lady because she said I was talking loud and yelling at her. Not sure how this will end but it is my intention to pursue Smartbox for every dime I lose in loss wages because of their screwups! I'm also considering sending the recordings I have of Ms. McNeil calling me out of my name to the media because I have a feeling she's done it before. You may save a few dollars but it's not worth it in the end

Picked up in Los Angeles and shipped to Atlanta! Every team member was super nice. My drive across the country was stress free by not having a trailer. Highly recommend for long hauls like mine or any move really.

I picked SmartBox storage over their competitors because of their higher customer service ratings, but we have been very disappointed. If you use SmartBoxes in the summer in southern areas of the US, giant roaches will get into your boxes and leave staining black feces all over your stuff. I wish someone had warned us to cover our things more carefully.

We had to throw away some lamp shades and a lot of clean up on our furniture. We finished up our home renovations and moved our things back into our house, but the SmartBoxes are still waiting to be picked up, weeks later. They are taking up two parking spaces and advertising a product we do NOT endorse. We asked for a partial refund for our issues, but the local franchise claims their staffing shortages are "out of their control." Natural disasters out of a company's control. Staffing is part of your business.

I was promised that my personal belongings would be delivered yesterday on 06/29/2021. Well it is now 06/30/2021 and I do not have my things, no phone calls, and I have literally been on hold for hours trying to get this resolved. No one answers phone calls or returns messages. I'm very distraught over this because there is an Urn among my things that means the world to me. At this point I'm just Praying that I get my things

I had a project scheduled on a very specific timeline. I was promised delivery on a specific day and planned the start of the project on the promised delivery date. The day they were supposed to arrive I was contacted and told they would be a day late. Problem number 1. When I called to have the boxes picked up I was subjected to a very long hold time so I eventually chose the option to have them call me when an agent was available.

I left a specific number for them to call me back, which was not the number they had for my account. She called me back at the correct number after about an hour. I informed her I wanted to have the boxes picked up she checked the schedule for the local franchisee and said "This doesn't look right, I will have the local office call you to schedule pickup".

I told her please have him call this number. They called back on the other number which my wife answered and, again, asked him to call me on the correct number, which he never did. When I called the next day, again after an extensive hold time I chose the option to have them call me back TWICE. It is now six hours after the call and I have not received a call back.

So I tried their live chat. Twenty five minutes later I am still getting the message "someone will be with you momentarily". I am also Nineteen minutes into hold time one the phone as I called again while waiting "for an agent to be with me momentarily" on the live chat. They did however manage to get me out an email that they will be billing me automatically in seven days. Horrible customer service!

The storage unit said that it would hold a room to a room and 1/2. When ordering I let the sales rep know I was using this storage unit to store my living room furniture while getting carpeting. I was told one would be enough. It was not. On the up nite the sales rep was very nice the box came and placed as requested. The unit was very clean. I would order again but now I know what what to expect.

Breakdown of communication, missed appointments for pickup and delivery (which led to other fees) and lack of empathy from management. Rented 11 pods to move our home and on multiple occasions the driver was uninformed, couldn't complete the work or just didn't show up. Because you can only fit 7 pods on a truck at a time, there were multiple deliveries and pickups and none of them went well.

At one point the driver never made his appointment. No call to let me know he wasn't going to make the pickup, which caused a crew of workers that were dispatched to fix the curb in front of my home to be rescheduled and I was left with the fee. When I called Ned to get the issue resolved, he said he didn't understand how any of this was his problem and wouldn't help with absorbing any of the fees, then told me he would call the driver to get the issue fixed and call me back. guess what, never called me back.

Eventually I got a text from Ned at 5:30pm THE NEXT DAY saying "I have not forgotten about you, waiting to hear from Shabazz that you are picked up. I am heading to a networking Dinner/meeting, so if I don't s" And the was it. I came home late that evening and the pods were gone. I've not heard from Ned or SMARTBOX concerning this whole ordeal since the careless, half-written text. I'm extremely disappointed with SMARTBOX, their services and their mission. Pay a little extra to have someone do it right the first time.

I ordered one container for my move about an hour away from my previous home. Smartbox was the only one able to service the new area. Drop off of my container was a breeze and the driver called to let me know he was on the way to my location. He arrived 30 minutes after his call. My kids enjoyed watching him unload the container and set it in my designated location.

He was extremely friendly and answered any questions I had. I called for pick up once we closed on my new house and it was delivered in the 3 days. The only problem I had was that when I was finished and called for a final pickup of my container I had to wait almost 2 weeks until the 4th. Pick up went smoothly with the same driver! I got a call about 2 weeks afterwards stating that they had not received any payment for my container.

I was flabbergasted. I had paid everything off when I scheduled my pick up and my month ended exactly on the 4th which was my pick up date. I told them that I'd already had my container picked up and that they needed to check their records for the paperwork. After holding for a few minutes the representative came back on and apologized for his mistake.

I suggested that they look at ALL the paperwork and check the file completely before calling and giving someone a heart attack in the future. If not for this call and the later pick up date it would have been 5 stars. I would still recommend them as a service but would call the company itself again to let them know when the container was gone. (You shouldn't have to since they have to dispatch a driver for pickup. You assume that they'd know it's received since they had 2 forms and a dispatch order for pickup.)

I was very pleased with SMARTBOX! I found SMARTBOX after one of the other "pod" companies disappointed me, and left me in a bad spot. SMARTBOX came on time and communicated very well. When they first dropped off the two boxes, I'll admit, I was freaking out. They looked so much smaller than what I had pictured. My family and friends came and we fit everything from my one bedroom apartment! IKEA L shaped couch, queen bed, ottoman, book shelves, kitchen table, all my stuff! The boxes fit nicely in one parking spot of my complex so as not to take up too much room from other residents. Absolutely recommend SMARTBOX!

The lack of 5 star rating was due to the delivery of my POD unit. I used the service for a cross country move. I considered SmartBox along with several other nationally known POD services and asked multiple times before signing the contract about how to get my belongings delivered once I arrived in my new city. I was told by different people that I simply call, schedule delivery and would need to give only 1 days notice.

Come to find out, they only deliver in Portland, OR, 3 days a week not all 7 days like I was told. SmartBox charged me another months fee for storage fees since they couldn't deliver the box the day my monthly rate expired AND I had to buy a 4-day parking permit from the city to park the POD instead of just a 2 day permit. This huge omission and transparency by SmartBox cost me an additional $400 dollars.not cool SmartBox.

Not cool at all! Other issue I had is they cut my locks off my boxes at some point during the move, did not disclose they did this and replaced the locks but did not give me new keys. I had to find someone with bolt cutters when my movers arrived to unload. My belongs were all there but why did you replace my locks?!? If there was a ligit reason, you should be upfront with me and give me the keys so I could remove the locks.

Very helpful and professional. There was a minor leak in one of my smart boxes (at the very front corner) and they brought out a new one right away and helped me move my stuff. I would absolutely use them again if the opportunity presents itself.

He has raised the monthly rates A LOT at SmartBox. He has refused to honor the prior guaranteed rate which we were paying. So consider carefully before you have boxes which may become long term storage. We weren't planning on long term storage, as we chose SmartBox to use when selling a house. After the sale, we are in a condo closer to work, but don't have space, until we move from an Intown condo to a house again. So, once you have everything packed away in Smart Boxes in Marietta, be prepared for massive rate increases.

These increases led me to finally check other storage locations, and to my surprise I found many locations with far lower prices, which are even climate controlled. And comparable space in non climate controlled spaces are much, much lower priced than SmartBox in Marietta. Do some shopping, in person, at other locations in order to pay much less over time.

We 1st rented two pods to de-clutter our house before we put it on the market. We also had one sent to my husbands place of business to load more items that we had in storage. The three boxes were sent to the ware house for a couple of months and then all delivered on the same day to our new home. We had no damage. Very good experience.

Box was understandably a bit worn from use however, this meant it was not plumb and square so ounce the door was open it took considerable effort and leverage to close. otherwise very pleased with product and service provided.

We used SMARTBOX for a recent move, during which we moved out of one house and then had boxes delivered to the new house a few weeks later. No problems at all with initial drop-off and pick-up to move out of the house. However, delivery to the new house was a day late which was an inconvenience due to the fact that we had already hired movers around our delivery schedule. Also, the boxes were supposed to be picked-up from our new house last Monday, March 12th.

They are STILL sitting in our driveway taking up a ton of room, and no one from SMARTBOX will return our calls. Apparently they've run into some issues scheduling drivers, which I can understand may be beyond their control. However, their lack of communication and professionalism is inexcusable.

Very efficient and easy to use. Items were stored for 5+ months and no issues upon return. I didn't have to be home for them to drop and pickup smartbox which was great!

I used this service over the summer. The boxes were delivered within a couple days of my order. It was an easy set up and the entire process was relatively quick. The smaller boxes are tiny- I needed more than one. YOU PAY FOR DELIVERY- so make sure you order what you need the first time. They stayed dry inside and were the basic shelter I needed for my extra stuff.

The low star review is due to the strict policy of paying for an entire month even if you only need a couple extra days. There is no prorate. I totally understanding setting a minimum charge of one month- my issues is if you only need temporary storage for one month and 3 days you will pay for TWO months. Also to note- you must schedule your pick up a week in advance to be assured you don't roll into the next month and get charged.

Also to note which inspired this review- that same box that you paid the extra month for can and will be rented out to someone else (now that's excellent money making strategy- double dipping!)

Used Smartbox to move to Oregon from Atlanta. It was exactly what we needed. The space to pack our own things and have the box delivered to our door was perfect. The only comments I have that make this a 4 and not 5 star rating are that a queen-size boxspring will not fit in horizontally. Learned this the hard way after loading the entire box with space left at the top for the mattress & box spring. Ended up leaving the box spring behind.

One of the latches on the box door was broken and wouldn't close all the way, so it shipped with one lock not locked. It's made of sheets of plywood, so watch out for splinters. Would definitely use them again. Best bargain for this kind of shipping, after much research.

The people from Smartbox of Atlanta are extremely kind and helpful. I work for a non-profit and Ned, the owner was so kind and helpful throughout the whole process. He cut us a great deal, was extremely understanding of our circumstances, and his driver was extremely kind. When his driver arrived to drop off the Smartbox, he made sure it was exactly where we wanted it, and made sure that we were all set. We are so thankful for this wonderful team & have recommended it to everyone!

Great, flexible way to move across country on the cheap! SmartBox was my Atlanta affiliate of a move initiated in California with ZipCube. SmartBox was very easy to work with and were flexible on drop-off and pick up dates. There was a water leak in my new place which required me to keep the SmartBoxes at my property for three weeks. Most other companies would have charged me, but SmartBox did not. Finally, my driver James S. was very professional, accommodating, friendly and referred me to an awesome mover who unpacked my boxes at a great price. Thanks SmartBox for providing such an awesome service!

I have interacted with Smartbox on three occasions since August. All three times the service was excellent. I had them deliver and pickup two cubes in August, I decided I could not live without my Xmas decorations and went to their site to pick out a few boxes, and they recently delivered the two boxes to my new home where I plan to use them during renovations to store extras.

Both Ned the owner, and James the Driver were extremely helpful. Not to mention, James made the extra effort to fit the two cubes under my carport roof which required expert skill and effort!

Ambar Z. has it right about this Smartbox. I rented from them for five years until finally deciding to have my items shipped out to me in California. I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT NED. He was amazing. Great communication, recommended someone to help me with my move, was there through the whole process, even took pictures of the unit when it was opened and sent them to me.

You can have complete faith that whatever items you need stored or shipped to you will be properly cared for here and that customer service will never let you down. 5 stars. Thank you Ned. Above and beyond.
