My aunt hired this company to clear out the house she had lived in all her life so that she could sell it when she moved to a smaller place. She sought out a company which promised to sort the items in the house and find the things she wanted to keep - family heirlooms which might not have had a lot of cash value, but which were valuable to her. She paid this company substantially more than she would have paid someone else to just get rid of everything quickly.

She even labelled one of the items in the house and told the company to leave that one for her to pick up later - she was planning to bring it to anther family member as a gift, but wasn't able to fit it into the last carload of items she took out herself before Segues came to get the rest of the items sorted. Segues did not do what she paid them to do. Instead, they threw absolutely everything from the house into the dumpster, including the item she had labelled and told them about specifically.

Not only did Segues fail to do the job my aunt paid them to do, they also cost her the loss of all the items which were not supposed to be thrown in a dumpster! My aunt is very sad about the lost items, but does not want to try to recover any of the enormous fee she was charged for services Segues did not provide, because she is tired from all the work of moving and just wants to put all the trouble behind her.

Since Segues advertises themselves as "Senior Move Specialists, " helping seniors who are moving into assisted living need help getting some of their belongings to the new home with care while eliminating the items they don't need anymore, I find what they did to my aunt disturbing. It seems clear to me that their actual business model is preying on vulnerable people who need help and are unlikely to have the means to report them online, leave them bad reviews, or take them to court for breach of contract.

I wonder how many retired people have lost money to this company who exploits them with impunity. I wish I could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but since it was my retired aunt who was exploited and not myself, I can't do that, so I am leaving this review instead.

We hired Segues to help downsize my elderly father who was moving to a new assisted living facility. The crew from Segues was so focused on speed that they threw away hundreds of important and confidential papers. They even threw away his apartment keys! They talked about how they train their people to look at every piece of paper in every file, and that's simply not true. Since this happened in August, they keep telling me they want to make it right, but they don't follow thru. I'm extremely disappointed.
