Mark Brasfield, Owner of The Safe House in Nashville Tennessee, explains the different features to look for when you are purchasing a gun safe. If you store your guns in a record safe you will probably get some moisture on them. That is why most American Made gun safes use gypsum board for an insulator. Gypsum board is fire resistant but not made with water like the insulation in record safes and filing cabinets. Although gypsum board is an excellent insulator it will not insulate for as long or for temps as high as a record safe or fire proof filing cabinet.
From beginning to end, we had the most amazing experience with The Safe House! We were able to build our own safe to fit our needs. Today we had the install. That was really fun to watch! Kerry and Erik have this process down to a capital T. They have this special machine to bring it up the steps and took care to put carpet runners down to boot!

My only regret was not visiting sooner. I had spent almost 2 months researching and comparing models online and in "big box" stores only to not find what I wanted. Mr. Mark and his team are both knowledgeable, professional, and courteous to say the least. I gave Mr. Mark my budget and he spent the time showing me every safe he had that met what I wanted.
No up-sale or pressure to buy while we walked around the floor and he explained in detail what's good, what's bad, and what would most likely suit my needs. When my decision was made, the transaction was quick and painless. The delivery was scheduled and when the crew arrived, they were polite, respectful, and QUICK. Do yourself a favor and visit in person to see what they have to offer. Thank you for all you help!

Great experience here! Altough I've been in the market for a safe for a long time. I just hadn't made the time to shop anywhere other than online. Just basically reading specs on safes in the size I thought I needed. Well i made an impulsive last minute decision to do it an hour before the Safe House closed. So I honestly thought I would be troubling them as they tried to close.
Well that couldn't have been further from the truth. I showed up there at 3pm (they close at 4pm on Saturday) and they treated me as i was a customer they'd know for years! Answering every question I had throughly and patiently. Also ended up giving me a great deal on exactly what I wanted! I highly recommend anyone in the market for a safe stop by and check them out. They have an awesome selection!

The delivery guys are very respectful of my home and go out of their way to make sure nothing is harmed during the install.
