We have an insulated and heated cargo area when transporting pianos during the cold Minnesota winter months. In addition to our moving services, we also offer piano storage in our climate-controlled building. We can even help you dispose of old pianos. We have protective gear available, including covers and pads to protect your piano as well as wheels to protect your hardwood floors. We handle your property with care at all times. Piano Movers Extraordinaire is licensed and insured. Don't trust your "baby" in the hands of just any piano mover.

Services
Piano Movers Extraordinaire is and always has been a family-owned company. Allen Stifter founded the company in 1976 with high quality standards from the beginning. After many years of piano moving, Allen decided to retire. Curt Cameron, a longtime friend and employee of Allen, agreed to continue with the piano moving business.
Our main service is piano moving. The piano moving service we provide varies with each customer's needs. We have the experience and equipment necessary to move your piano safely from one Twin Cities location to another. Whatever the reason, we can help make sure your piano is moved safely. We average 6 to 10 piano moves a day.
A popular service we offer is our climate-controlled piano storage. We have an insulated building that we also heat and/or dehumidify as the seasons change to keep it climate-controlled for the pianos. We store all kinds of uprights and all sizes of grands. We can store for short stays or for longer periods.
When cared for properly, pianos will last for decades. However, when a piano begins to show wear on the outside or the moving parts inside no longer work properly, reconditioning is usually the first recommendation. A piano technician can fix the inside of the piano while a furniture refinisher can restore the outside.

I had my piano moved this weekend and had a wonderful experience. It was easy to schedule. The movers were friendly, attentive to our house/belongs and moved the piano very quickly. We were incredibly impressed. If we have to move the piano again in the future, we will definitely be using PME again.

I cancelled my piano move with this outfit, the evening before it was scheduled. Received a call that evening from a crass, unpolished, unappreciative, inflexible employee. This person informed me that my pickup time was scheduled for 9:00 - 10:30, which was between the 8-5 window we discussed. I asked if I could have it picked up closer to the. 10:30 time.
Before I could finish explaining why I needed that time, I was told "no, the route is set for a 9:00 pick up and that they had better things to do than wait around" to pick up my piano. I should reschedule or cancel. Seriously?!? Easy decision for me given that response. I'd recommend responding in a more customer friendly manner, maybe something like "I am sorry. We would love to help we unfortunately but are unable to accommodate this request. Can we find another day soon that would work for you?"

I had a piano that needed to be moved from my split level house to a single level dwelling and they were fantastic! They made it look so easy LOL. We moved the piano by ourselves several years ago and this time we opted to hire someone to move it for us. That was the best decision we made in this move. I would definitely recommend them for your piano moving and or storage needs. Prices working fat active and not outrageous and the guys did a great job!

As a piano restoration shop the piano movers I use are a crucial part of my service. It's very important that the movers be safe, professional and fast. I use PME for all my moves and they are the only movers I recommend to my customers. There are other movers in town who are good but for me and my customers PME is the best. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. If you need a piano moved please don't do it yourself! Choose experience and call PME.

They were very easy to work with. They quoted me a price and stuck to that price. They did everything they said they would (call the evening before with a 2 hour window, and called 15 minutes prior to their arrival). They did have to reschedule once due to winter storm warnings but were very open to rescheduling within my availability and as soon as possible.
They even dropped the price due to the need to reschedule. When the movers arrived I did ask if they could move a large tv stand, it was in the way, down to my basement for some extra money and they graciously obliged. They were professional and straight forward. I love my new (new to me) piano and enjoy being able to play again.
