Oak View Self Storage is here to meet your storage, packing, and moving supply needs. We are a 608 unit self-storage facility, that has quick access from Hwy 33, in Oak View California. We opened our doors to the public in July of 2001, with the hopes of providing a valued and needed service for our local community. We would like to add that not only do we provide rental spaces for your self-storage needs, BUT we also have a selection of moving, packing, and storage supplies [which you can view here].
Services
Below is a listing of the most common sizes of units we have here at Oak View Self Storage and their respective prices. Not all sizes will be available, at all times. Each unit has a garage style roll up door, a ceiling of at least 9 1/2 feet, and it's own individual alarm. The entire facility has fire sprinkled buildings, with color video camera's.

There really should be a zero star option for this storage service. I was really excited to be coming back to this location after a great experience with this site 4 years ago. Apparently since then management has changed from your easy going small town hospitality to uptight micromanaging Karens. When I signed my rental agreement in February 2022, I was told there was flexibility on leaving the property a little late for the needs of moving in and getting the unit organized.

It felt like the same great energy you'd expect from our charming valley. To my surprise, I was almost immediately made the target of harassment by management. They made comments about my belongings and how much I had. Although, it was nothing more than basic household items and clothing. By my second week the stuck up old blond would walk to my unit to ask how long I was going to be on-site when I arrived making me feel very uncomfortable and wanting to leave with out getting anything done.

On one of these occasions I mentioned to her that I had received several disturbing messages from the live-in night security regarding random girls on Instagram. She asked me why I gave him my number and I answered honestly, that he requested it in case of emergency to be able to contact me. The next day I was given a write up for leaving late and exceeding the 2 hour maximum on-site time allowance, which is written NO-WHERE in the agreement I signed.

Now it is April 3rd and I have been served an eviction notice because I had my new puppy with me and was keeping her corralled out side my unit. Mind you they waited all day from the time I arrived at noon determined to get things done finally, until 6pm to let me know that my puppy or my things in the hall were a problem. I felt like she thought she was my mom saying "this is not okay" and pointing her finger at me like tisk tisk shame on you.

Mind you, no one came onsite during the entire day except one person looking to rent and ultimately took the unit just down the hall from mine. I have 15 days to vacate and they think they are keeping my full payment for the month of April. So no, you darling old Karen you, shame on you. Get a hobby and get some happy in you. She should not work with people. Do not rent here.

Very clean & secure. The administration was extremely courteous & helpful with the process of renting my storage unit. Prices are average for the Ojai area.

Fast service and they help you get the storage room you need. The lady working there is so nice and pleasant to talk to. and if they don't have the storage room you need they try to help you as much to get it. storage room are big and you can fit as much as you want. Pluse its always so clean. I'm so happy with there service please if you need a storage room go with them.

My name is Marc Funderburk. This last December, Step dad sold property on a 2 week quick sale. So I left they decided that nobody renting much, then try pack 3 bedroom. 3 car garage. They got the big 40'. I didnt want it there so. The did which 3 month paid. I was notified verbally. I couldnt right away do to Virus. I ask to get tool out to work and continue with the bill.

He said know rent them at Lowes. Serious? Add gave what I had from my EDD 300 he opened theit. 2 weeks go by. I give 340. Next day on my windshield eviction. What?. Almost 700. Over a months few. Couple days code changed. I said I gave you 4 -15 340 all that and I get this. He said owe 1495 to Barrow it. from where. Threat me that I'd loose it. less than a week.

He auctioned my stuff. I went by contract. Best I could. I showed effort. Not effortless. On payment that faulted. I didnt know, any way. I hear about it. I went to pick up my Everything for 12yrs passed recently. Her ashes were seen in office. I go there not a her son was 19 gone as well. My eviction was signed my name. I wouldn't of signed due to me effort. Numbers scribaled.

No initals. Forgery?. I go get my girl everything gone she not there. Now I wasnt notified the auction so I could get my stuff. whitch wasn't in safe hands. I got my girl but not 19yr son. Cops called. They wanted me to sign over to get ashes. Nothing hand written spelled right along with copy of a tentents drives license. wow. They wanted it back. identity theft if I didn't. seriously there's procedure for recycl.

I'm notified the other person. Contract a flexible one? I follow it. Across the board like proto call. No discriminate me. Win win? 700.and my stuff. Claus or contract to protect him. Civil court? I be gone. No public announcement. Or me notified. I'm at a loss and O well. I can't start to get the police. was robbed and money all memories. now I'm sitting here thinking of.

I had 3 car shop. stuff never thought I'd loose it to the one supposed to be acting like he did nothing for pay up N shut up. Wrongfully done Tom. I billing you 10,000 for loss. 2 for humanity 20, 000 now no tools for my business and my music and recording equipment that dream lost at 66 songs to go a career. Wrongfully evicted from a facility that was to protect was just walk owell were is my step son? Tom?

Beware of continued charges after vacating unit. Our family was planning a long move, so I stopped in to let their staff know that we would be leaving the following day. Our items would remain in storage for an additional week to be picked up by a moving company. The employee made a note of when our items would be removed from storage and assured us that we would not be charged beyond that month.

We were "not" asked to sign any paperwork to vacate the unit. To our surprise, we continued to receive changes for two additional months. That's when I contacted the company to request a stop payment. They did stop the payments, but informed us that because we did not fill out any exit paperwork, we could not be refunded for the two prior months. Again, "we did" notify them of when we would be leaving and the exact date that the moving company would be removing our items.

We were not asked to sign any exit paperwork, which they have stated is a requirement when vacating a unit. They were well aware that the unit had been vacated and that it was empty, but continued to change us. The loss of money is not a huge deal to us. It's more of an ethical issue where the company definitely and purposefully skimmed a little extra money at the expense of their reputation. It was their mistake and the honest thing to do would have been to refund our money. Wish others better luck with this company.

During the Thomas Fire I was out of work for two months and couldn't pay my storage fees. Even though I had the money to get caught up they would not negotiate. They only allowed me to take my papers. I lost everything I owed including all my clothing. It was difficult to get help from FEMA and gain employment without professional clothing. This place is looking for a profit at all costs. Even if it destroys someone's livelihood after a natural disaster.

Rented a unit for 10 months 2nd floor. Someone had spilled something in the elevator and it was still uncleaned every we we went there. I was curious if they finally cleaned it up due to the panademic. Other than that lady in the office was quite nice.

Horrible customer service. I didn't get the usual rate increase they mailed out, 11%, so they started adding late fees, locked our unit, and started to lien our stuff. I've paid reliably for years, they could have spent a minute to make a phone call to let me know I didn't get their notice but they would rather be jerks and add up late fees.

Raised rent several times after move in after they'd told me there hadn't been a price hike in 3 years. Lots of spiders and bugs. When asked if they could spray I was told it's not in the budget. Also, not one trash bin on site.
