Hanover Transfer & Storage

We did a local move in Hanover, and this moving company was terrible in all regards. The movers basically consisted of a manager directing a bunch of college kids, who obviously had very little experience moving things. Several furniture pieces were scratched and damaged. They gave us a quote over the phone before the move, but then would up charging us $500 more than the quote. Probably the worst moving company we ever used.

I was referred to Hanover Transfer by a close friend who uses them and gave them rave reviews. I'm so happy that I took her advice! What an amazing team! I'm extremely grateful for their professionalism and how they handled my situation in a timely manner, allowing me to enjoy my holidays with a huge weight off my shoulders. They said they would call if they got an opening and they did. Two great guys- quick and professional took care of what we needed to have done. ( moving some furniture within our house) I would hire them again for sure!

I could not have been happier with my move. The movers took good care of my things and checked to be sure things were where I wanted them placed. They reassembled things they disassembled for the move and made sure I was satisfied before they left. They were pleasant, kind and efficient.

I love these guys! My family has had a storage bin with them for almost 40 years. Always kind and very professional! I recommend them all the time.

I sold my Hanover, NH house in June, 2021 and moved to Arlington, Virginia. Hanover Transfer and Storage had been recommended by several local area friends as well as by the excellent real estate agent, Liam McCarthy, of Coldwell Banker who helped orchestrate the house preparation for sale and the sale itself. Hanover Transfer crews were amazingly adept, professional and experienced at packing furniture and other household items for a rather complicated move: The first to drop off material to my son's home in Silver Spring, Maryland and then to my new home in Virginia.

I needed to stay in the Hanover house, along with my teenage son, a couple of extra nights after the move with only two beds and personal belongings. Hanover Transfer arranged this with ease. They also moved a few items to a relative's Norwich, Vermont home. Overall, the experience was exemplary and I do not hesitate to recommend Hanover Transfer. Tom Blinkhorn

The team appeared precisely when they said and were professionally attired. Throughout the packing and moving days they focused on working - no cell phone chatting or cigarette breaks (none smoked!). They were incredibly careful with all my possessions both packing and moving. I had some very heavy furniture and they handled with grace. Items that required disassembly were taken apart with no hesitation with equipment appropriate to the job and reassembled correctly in my new home. AND, they were friendly.

I had used this company for two years as my daughter went to school in Hanover. Everything went well until she was about to move out of state but still store her item with the company. Three days before she was to move, they present her with a phony "storage" bill stating that they wouldn't be able to assist in her move unless they were paid $1,300 for some "item" that had been "in storage" for over 2 years, there was not anything that belonged to her in storage.

I immediately let them know that no invoices had ever been sent to her over the two years, that they after a month of not paying were permitted to auction it off, with notice. They didn't. Then they gave us some convoluted explanation of why they did not and that's when I asked for a copy of the storage agreement. Well, of course, there wasn't one and hence no legally binding contract.

We cancelled the move and we never heard from them again. It was a total scam, they thought that we were stupid and perhaps this has worked for them in the past, sadly for them, it wasn't going to work this time. As such, I would never ever recommend this company. 1 star is way to many. BEWARE!

I could not say enough good things about Hanover Transfer. Every one we came in contact with was professional, caring, onetime, friendly, careful, on and on. Bottom line. They did what they said they'd do in a very professional, friendly, caring way. They packed our whole house and are now storing everything for us. They will be moving our items out of state and unpacking when the time is right.

We just used Hanover Transfer and Storage for a local move and could not have been happier. They worked with our schedule, gave a reasonable and accurate quote and the movers themselves were really nice and hard working. Everything arrived unscathed and the movers went above and beyond to make sure we were set up in our new home. Hopefully we won't move again any time soon but next time we do we will absolutely use them again!
