Services
In a fascinating coincidence, brothers J.E. "Jim" McConnell and J.W. "Mac" McConnell bought McConnell Brothers Transfer from two other brothers of no relation - J.H. "Jim" McConnell and A.A. "Mac" McConnell in 1961. The two Jims got to know each other over a mail mix up, and years later, the sale of the company to two brothers of the same name seemed a natural.

Scheduling our move and getting a quote went very well. The guys on our move, John and Chris, were AMAZING! Moving can be stressful and they were both so friendly and helpful and upbeat. They were very careful with our belongings both during the loading process and the unloading. They were so professional and so much fun to be around!

Where to start! First I will say the guys who actually did the work were great guys. First, even tho their representative had been out to our home to see our items to be moved, and saw that we live down a narrow gravel road, they sent the biggest tractor trailer to load our belongings. ( our things ended up filling about half or less of the truck ) They tore up our neighbor's front yard trying to back in.

Even got stuck in their yard, requiring a tow truck to come pull them out. ( never offered an apology or compensation) I had one item that was important to me. They had a special form for me to fill out describing the item. It is a 100 year old secretary/curio cabinet that belonged to my grandmother. ( they did offer additional insurance for another 450.00.my feeling was if I'm paying them 2,500.00 to move us 220 miles then I should get my things down there in one piece) They were scheduled to deliver our items on a Thursday.

They called to tell us it would be Friday. Ok. They arrived and unloaded and all was well until one of the guys came in and handed me the entire front leg to the secretary. No, it shouldn't come off. It was snapped off. They also crushed the top to our shredder but I wasn't upset over that. I didn't make a scene. Just filed a claim for the damage. Today I got my check. 27.00 for the antique secretary and 4.00 for my 60.00 shredder. I would avoid them if you can. And carry your precious things yourself!

Military move, lowest bidder, it shows in their work and lack of taking responsibility. Not only they destroyed all of our desks and more, they would not pay us back for the broken hammock by saying that it wasn't on the inventory sheet. If you have to use them, I sugeeest you take pictures of ALL items BEFORE and AFTER. Don't listen to what they tell you, they lie.

We were only reimbursed $160 for items they broke that totaled in at least $1,000 loss to replace all items they broke. And that's being conservative. We had no to lie. But they won't take responsibility. Worst movers ever.

I ordered a table back in May and this company never told Wayfair that the table had water damage. I called and spent in total 4 hours trying to figure out why my table was over a month late. Come to find out that it was not delivered due to water damage. My replacement table has been rescheduled for delivery twice and the replacement has also taken a month to be delivered. Unacceptable.

This move was one for the record books. The packers did a great job. Very efficient. The girls brought a guy with them that was lazy and careless. He packed my wedding dress in a box that was intended for dishes. The morning of my move Mr. Johnny pulled up in a truck that was too small for our home. He assured me he could get everything inside this truck.

Well after 8 hours of trying to force everything in the truck he brought he admitted everything wouldn't fit and he would have to rent a uhaul. There was one problem. he was the only driver with a valid driver's license. He rented a truck and had no choice but to allow a non licensed driver drive the uhaul. The boys complained the entire time about the heat, their supervisor, the pay and Mr. McConnell.

The day of deliver Mr. Johnny came with a new crew which happened to be a lot older. Our new home has hardwood flooring which they chipped and scratched while moving the furniture inside our house. We paid for assembly but they lost the crews to our furniture. At the time we didnt know there was an issue until we checked behind them and noticed everything was assembled incorrectly.

They even hid our bed slats in the attic. Our crib cannot be converted because we are missing manufacture screws. I called the office that day and left Suzy R. A vm. She returned my call the next day directed me to file a claim within 9 months. I filed the claim for everything that was damaged and Mr. McConnell sends me less than $250 and denied liability on my floors.

He will not return any emails or phone calls. I would not recommend this company for a personal move or government paid for move. If you are forced to use this company make sure you record what is going on because Mr. McConnell will not honor your claim in full. Document everything on the invoices yourself. Someone even forged a signature on the delivery documents which is all you have to rely on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I am giving McConnell one star because it will not allow me to give anything less. I have used this company 5 times in the last 6 years and have been satisfied with them. However on our last move we had some damaged items and damage to our new home. After making a claim and being assured everything would be taken care of, nothing has been done. I received a letter today stating the that my entire claim has been denied and they consider the the matter closed. they will not return phone calls or emails. I am not sure if they have had a change in management but i would not recommend using them.

Movers damaged the door on the home we sold as we moved out. I sent multiple photos of the dents and scratches paint. Basically, I was called a liar when the owner said the damage looked like it had been done previously. It was a new door that had just been painted! One of my favorite lamps was broken to bits when I unpacked it, and worst of all, our expensive king mattress they stored for four months is lopsided now. If you use this company, be sure to buy the insurance. You'll need it.

This is one of the worst, strangest interactions/experiences I've ever had with a company. First off, let me say this is in reference to McConnell's service as a local delivery hub for Wayfair so we did not choose this business by choice. We ordered a loveseat and a sofa in the same transaction from Wayfair April 11. We get a notification that the loveseat arrived at McConnell's warehouse April 19 and the sofa on April 22.

I get emails saying that the loveseat is scheduled for delivery Friday April 26 and the sofa the following day. It lists the delivery manager's number (I won't mention their name) in the email to call and reschedule if those dates don't work. The email also states that they are supposed to call you ahead of time but I never got a call. I decide to call them, first of all because we live on base and wanted to know if we needed to sponsor them on.

I get no response so I finally text and ask if both can be delivered Friday as we were planning to go out of town Saturday. I figured that would be easier to deliver both at the same time anyway. At first he tells me they are unable to deliver tomorrow and tells me that picking them up myself is an option ha! I then remind him that the loveseat is scheduled for Friday so they have to come either way and he says "Oh" and that he will place both on the truck that evening.

The next day we get the delivery. Loveseat is dropped off but no sofa. Delivery person says she is certain there was never a sofa on the truck. Says she will check with her boss. I text delivery manager again and ask about the sofa and he says he will check the truck when it gets back. This was Friday. No response. I call McConnell's main line and they say they have nothing to do with Wayfair deliveries and that he is the only person that does and that they can't help me.

I check in Saturday as well and again Monday. We get nothing for FIVE days. No text, no call, no email. Nothing. I go ahead and call Wayfair and let them know what's going on. Finally Tuesday, (today) comes around and the truth finally comes out. First he sends me an email that he is contacting Wayfair customer service to figure out how best to proceed.

Still not disclosing what happened. I then text and inquire about picking up the sofa myself because he is still not responding to email or answering the phone. Finally he tells the truth. "We do not have the couch." I ask him for details and he brushes it off and says I need to speak to Wayfair from this point on. Wayfair says the sofa is considered "lost in transit" at this point and issues a replacement and now we have to wait another three weeks.

Never an apology, an explanation, nothing from delivery manager. If he could have just let us know Friday what was going on, we could have started the process of replacement with Wayfair sooner. I am still just in shock that a company could be so irresponsible and so easily lose track of a COUCH. And then not even own up to it or apologize to the customer.

And leave us wondering what happened for five days. If you order any large items from Wayfair please be wary. The entire situation is very suspicious and unsettling. Not to mention we will have to deal with them again for the replacement sofa. Fingers crossed this one doesn't get "lost" too. Please be careful with this company.

Mcconnell Brothers moved antique furniture and family heirlooms, including a set of dishes from Starkville, MS to Tacoma, WA. They did a wonderful job in all respects. They efficiently packed and moved the furniture into the truck in about 3 hours. They kept me informed of the location and progress of the truck in transit. They notified me when the movers were to arrive at my daughter's home.

Upon arrival at my daughter's home. The movers unpacked the furniture and placed it where she wanted it. Everything arrived intact. Very professional company. I very much appreciated the work they did.
