These movers were professional and packed up our apartment very quickly. There was a bit of a holdup as our moving crew and truck were delayed by several hours due to unforeseen circumstances at a previous job, but once aware of the problem the company made up for the error by promptly sending a different truck and crew to load up our boxes. I will update this review when we get our stuff delivered. Thanks!

We secured Hampton Roads Moving & Storage for our move to a new home in the area. They moved us out of our home, stored our property, and delivered it a few months later when we closed on our new home. The team that moved us out was excellent! They were friendly and professional. Some of the same team that moved us out, moved us in! This was a great help because they remembered where to put most of the items.

I was pleased to find that our furniture, clothes, dishes, etc., were all in good condition, just as before the move. Whenever I had questions throughout this process, I received a quick response from Robin or from Angela A. I must say that everyone I came into contact with was knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone planning a move. Thanks Hampton Roads Moving and Storage!

The Hampton Roads moving crew pack-up was the best we have experienced in over twenty years of military moves. The crew was very professional, polite and extremely proficient. Tyree and his team were excellent.

Very professional company. Always willing to answer any questions and tackle any problems that arise. They took care of my things as if it were theirs. Best movers I have experienced this far.

Lost a leg of our outdoor table, and a wheel off our antique wash stand. They weren't efficient. I guess I could have been more assertive and been a coach for the guys. They just wanted to get in and out. And I understand that They, but this was our stuff. They had boxes all lined up in the hallway of the condo, and the blankets all in a pile by the elevator. A real "s**t show"

This was our first PCS move as a family and from the very beginning we had an absolutely wonderful experience! Everyone we spoke with was always professional and courteous, the packers and movers were both on time and extremely polite and careful with everything. They worked quickly and efficiently, but not so fast that we worried about our belongings. I would HIGHLY recommend Hampton Roads Moving to anyone that needs help moving!

Much of our shipment arrived broken. Items that were pre packed were taken from where we had them securely packaged to prevent damage and they were moved to less secure boxing and smashed during delivery. This is hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of items. I'll be filing a claim through my insurance company for damages on both the packers and the delivery company. Primarily the packing company due to the irresponsible packaging. Not to mention money that was stolen during parkour. Photos to follow.

I DO NOT recommend this moving company. My husband was away on detachment and I had tried to set up this move to make it easier on him for when he came home. Right from the start the movers were very unprofessional in the way they acted towards one another. The 1 guy, I remember his name was, Tony, was very very Demeaning towards the other 2. workers and was very arrogant and prideful.

The Tony guy was very rude in his body language and comments towards my children as well as myself. Absolutely nothing was done to make this process easy for me. I felt very uncomfortable and almost to a point of feeling bullied and I was very vulnerable without my husband here. Of course as a mom you have.

The supervisor of the move crew was extremely pushy towards my wife. She felt pressured and stressed the entire time and was even pushed into signing the documents. I arrived home from detachment a couple days afterwards and she showed me everything as they left it. Majority of our furniture is a complete wreck! It was the worst move we have experienced yet and the blame can be placed nowhere but with this company.

The move crew from our previous home that packed everything did an extremely good job and took great care with our things and wrapped everything to protect it and when we got it from government storage to our house the wrappings and protective coverings were gone and our equipment and furniture has been damaged. I am beyond furious and a loss and damage report will most definitely be getting done immediately.

We had Brand New workout equipment and other things that were in obviously perfect and new condition before it left the house and now that is no longer the case. I will never use this company again, nor will I recommend it! On the contrary I will do what I can to steer people away from it. There is absolutely no reason and no excuse for there to be damage to anyone's furniture just because they are moving. A good professional company will use good professional people and equipment to ensure the clients goods are in tip top shape from start to finish! This is NOT that company!

This was my fourth move with the military, so I have a general expectation of how PCS moves should occur. However, I am sad to say that this move was the absolute worst. I attempted to change my pick-up date about a month prior to my move. I initially was contacted and was told that the movers could not support the day change due to truck availability.

Two days later, I was contacted again saying my move day change request was approved. Throughout the planning process, I was not informed that Hampton Roads Moving & Storage assigns one company to pack your HHG and another company to put the HHG into the truck to haul away. This was the reason for the conflicting messages regarding my request. On my pack-out day, the mover was on time and finished packing my 1BD/1BA apartment within 4 hours.

I signed the paperwork and asked her when her team would come to put my HHG in the truck. She replied and told me her team wasn't picking up my HHG. After some calling around, I was informed on my pack-out day that my HHG would not get picked up until a day later, and nothing could be done about it. Luckily, I was not rushing to catch a flight for my next orders, or I would have been in a major bind. When my belongings arrived at my new location, MULTIPLE items were missing and my furniture was very damaged from poor wrapping and storage.

They didn't show with all of my furniture. They were visibly frustrated when I told them they couldn't wheel the hand truck on my hardwood floors or slide the furniture over it. They broke the top piece on my dryer which I didn't notice until I had to use it days later. One person was a 16 y/o high school student working a summer job and the other had just graduated college. Neither were "professional movers". This company might be ok for small moves but definitely not for a full household move.

This company packed and coordinated my military move. By the time I received my things I had 2 broken night stands, a demolished computer desk, a broken mirror and my 65 in TV is completely ruined. Not to mention the 20 items that were not listed on the inventory and now missing items that I will never get reimbursed for because they also weren't written down. I've done many moves and this is by far the absolute worst. However my plastic measuring cup wrapped in 23 pieces of paper made it here fine.

First, the men are very nice and professional. They even came back two days after they packed to bring more boxes and pack the stuff they forgot. However - when we got to our destination, we had a number of things that were broken or packed so terribly with other things that they were bent or broken. I had to throw away 8 rolls of wrapping paper. because they bent them on purpose to fit in a 4.5 box instead of just putting them in a wardrobe?

So many picture frames broken, yet the studs you use in shelves to hold the shelf were wrapped like they were antique china. These are just a few examples. We are usually a 2-3 day pack out and they did it in 1 day. After leaving 3 kitchen cabinets full and a 1/4 of the garage plus all the things we have to claim because of breakage, I have a tough time saying I would recommend them.

I had a very positive experience with Hampton Roads Moving & Storage. They were quick to respond to my initial call and Tim managed the entire process well from start to finish. Every communication and interaction was professional and on time and on move day, everything went exactly as scheduled and planned. Great job!

Over the past 20 years, we have moved several times due to military orders. We never had a problem with anything missing or damage. Moving from Kansas to Virginia was supposed our last. Movers came and packed our stuff in Kansas. They were terrific and very careful with our new furniture. I have no complaints about them. It took us 2 weeks to find a place to live in Virginia, so our belonging was put in storage.

Delivery of our items was prompt.no complaints. We moved on Fort Eustis. As the 4 person crew was unloading, only 3 were doing any work. 1 lady was supposed to unpack, but we declined that option. She stuck around and did nothing but play on her phone. The crew boss was sick with a cold, but was checking off boxes and remained pleasant. The other 2 gentlemen were very friendly.

One guy slipped and fell in between the ramp legs. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. Anyway, about 2 months before we moved we purchased a solid buffet piece. The leg was broken. It appeared that it was lifted on one side and dragged, splitting the one leg in half. My husband had 2 steel workbenches. The one steel workbench weld was broken, leaving it unstable and dangerous.

The other steel bench's top shelf lip was bent inwards. I can only assume that a forklift damaged this because that would be the only thing strong enough to bend it. We found several additional items broken, a large standing fan, a missing reservoir to a carpet cleaner, and other small things.most of weren't that important to claim. We had a missing gas trimmer and rifle shooting stand.

There were even 2 boxes that had forklift holes in the middle of them. Thankfully the forklift teeth just barely missed our microwave, and the other box had clothes. We wrote everything down, and same did the crew boss. Our total estimate of damage was $1,800. I do not believe that the first packers/movers from Kansas did this damage, but the storage personnel in Virginia.

We tried filing our claim online, but the site was down. We tried for several weeks, but each time the submission failed. Finally, my husband faxed and contacted the Hampton Roads Movers claim office. The rep indicated that they acknowledge they delivered and stored our items, but they have not paperwork from the crew boss. The rep stated since they have "missing paperwork" from the crew boss that we have no claim. WHAT!

I told my husband that we should sue them. He stated that many companies with contracts with the military would do this so they can keep their contracts. We both work hard and sacrifice for our country. It's sad that there are companies like Hampton Roads Movers that are interested in the bottom line and not actual ethical work practices. In just talking with the very many members of their staff I found out that Hampton Roads Movers takes any damage cost away from their employees and drivers.

No wonder the crew boss didn't submit all of our documents. My advice.stay away from Hampton Roads Movers. They will not only screw you over but also their employees. UPDATE: The paperwork that was "missing" was emailed to them. So, they simply denied it because they didn't check. Contemplating suing now.
