They did a fantastic job moving our furniture for a local move from Elgin to Huntley. Very careful and conscientious, and hard workers got the job done in less hours than we expected.

They came out to deliver my dishwasher last week, the driver was parked down the block at the wrong address and just sitting in his truck, I had to walk down the street to direct him to my home, he seemed like a nice guy, when it was time to install my dishwasher he discovered it was busted, he called the office and they said they would redeliver on 1/17/22, I took the day off and by 11am head nothing, I called spoke with Robert who was dismissive and practically called me a lyer saying they never promised a delivery date because it was not on his schedule.

I have him the opportunity to correct himself he remained unprofessional and uncaring, so far I would not recommend them to anyone because of Robert, we will see what they will do This Thursday!

This company delivered our washer (on behalf of sears/cinch who happened to be our HMS provider) and we are completely satisfied with the delivery and the installation and also the polite nature of the people that did the job. (Specially when compared to the kind of delivery/installation services that we received by some 3rd party companies hired by big name companies for appliances/furniture).

The delivery people were polite, clearly explaining what they can and can't do. I just had to call the office just once to confirm the appointment and that service was great too!

They delivered a washer to our house, upon bringing it downstairs they dropped it 3 times on our wood stairs and hitting the walls. They claimed the damage on the walls was already there. I informed them those marks up top are markings from paint when we removed our railings to make sure the washer fit downstairs. Our dryer was delivered by a different company and they had no problems.

Same size. But they claimed the holes in the walls were there prior even though our house was about to be listed on the market. First they offered $50, $100, and then they said well you need to submit an estimate. So I had someone come out. The estimate was around $340. They never responded to my emails again after I submitted the estimate. Later they sent a check for $200 and never responded again to the claim via their insurance. Beware. My husband had to do some of the work as the contractor only did the drywall not the wood floors.

We had a huge move this summer and GESC was on top of everything. Kudo's to Jared and Rosa for handling every step of the way with quality assurance. Rosa was very responsive--calling me every day to check up. Special thanks to the Pablo and his crew for their hard work and professionalism to make the moving experience a totally non-stressful event.

I unfortunately cannot leave a good review. We had several hundred dollars worth of property stolen during our move. There was no resolution from Glen Ellyn Storage. And, we signed a contract for a 5-person moving team and only 4 were sent out. The price was adjusted afterwards, but our move might have gone a bit quicker if they had actually sent out the team for which we had signed a contract. A couple of the team members were wonderful, others complained loudly the entire time. Not a positive experience.

This is the third time I have used this company. All aspects have been outstanding. The coordinator Rosa is professional and knowledgeable and responsive. The packers showed up on time went right to work and did a good job. The day of the move was long and hard. After unloading at our new home the team went to a rent house to pack and unload the balance. The cost came in very close to the estimate. I don't expect to ever move again but if we do it will be with Glen Ellen Storage.

We used Glen Ellyn when we combined households in 2004 and again just recently when we downsized. The staff and movers were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The competitive quote again made Glen Ellyn Storage an easy choice. For the recent moved, we used the virtual quote process due to COVID. It was so easy! The movers were just awesome, didn't hesitate to ask questions or let us know procedures for packing certain items in the truck.

They also assembled a few pieces of furniture and helped us arrange some of the heavier pieces in our new home. We highly recommend Glen Ellyn Storage Corporation for your next move!

My husband and I were blown away by the professionalism, efficiency, and care that we received from Glen Ellyn Storage Corporation! Right from the start, when a representative safely came into our home to assess the amount of furniture and belongings needed to be moved, all the way through the five men who painstakingly did the heavy lifting! We also received frequent check-ins from Rosa, to make sure everything was on track.

The movers made a point to place everything (including area rugs) exactly where we wanted it, and did a great job of moving our antique upright piano. Completely satisfied, and would recommend this company to anyone needing moving services!

All the major items listed on the initial quote did not change, the increase was due to the number of boxes Glen Ellyn packed. As I paid quit a bit for a full service move, one would assume that the initial survey from your company would provide an fairly accurate estimate. Given that Glen Ellyn was responsible for surveying, estimating and packing I don't see how I can be at fault for going from 62 items to 82 items.

The only complain is that your sales/survey person underestimate to get business. I greatly would caution everyone of this type of sales tactic form this company. You should just assume you will pay more than what they quote you. If Glen Ellyn cares they should over estimate the amount of stuff someone have so that this type of dispute doesn't happen. Customers will always be more happy when they get a final bill that is less than what they were quoted for.

This company to be clear is in the western suburbs of Chicago, address is on Fullerton Ave in Carol Stream, IL - just visit the website link here on their page: http://www.glenellynmoving.com/ This company suggested to me that I have them to do a complete move for me from the beginning to the end when I hired them to help me with my move to California from Naperville, IL in June of 2017.

They suggested that I put my furniture into storage locally from the moving date of June 26 and come back in the fall to have them take it back out of storage and move me to California, at the end of September or in October. This was done to save money by waiting until the fall when there would be lower moving rates and storing my furniture in Chicago instead of California since we did not have a new house yet.

It also guaranteed that I would use them in the fall. We found a house in California in September and closed on it September 27 and went back to Chicago to oversee the removal of our furniture from storage. When Mayflower movers, their contractor came to pick up the furniture they found that my expensive solid wood furniture pieces had been badly scratched and showed both me and Liz, the sales person of Glen Ellyn the damage.

They had been improperly protected. I mentioned to them in June that I thought the movers looked like college students, not professional movers, which they obviously were not! When I contacted Sue, (the Glen Ellyn manager of the move), immediately while the movers were working, to ask for a claim form she emailed it to me without saying anything else.

When the furniture was delivered in California on October 4th, I checked it out and filed the claim on October 5th. Glen Ellyn denied my claim saying I only had 90 days from June 26th - now this time constraint is NOT even in the contract and anyway and I had paid for extra insurance so they took that too. I didn't 'receive' my funiture on June 26th, they know they put it in storage and I left town that day.

I never saw it. So what they did, which is unethical, is say that I had 90 days from June 26 is the deadline for filing a claim - again, no mention of this 90 days limitation in my contracts - and then when I asked for the claim form.on September 27th, (day 91) Sue failed to even say anything about dates - which of course appears to have been done on purpose.

This is all besides the point - this 90 day period wasn't in the contract and they know they did it but refused the claim anyway. This is an irresponsible and UNETHICAL company and I surely do NOT recommend them. I'll see if I can file a claim with the Department of Insurance, you should not trust this company. Dangerous company to use when it comes to moving your furniture! Just awful! They don't care about the damage they do to your personal belongings.

Forced to use this co. as result of order through Home Depot. They were rude, unaccommodating. First delivery was 5 days out! Their confirmation call' was a machine that left no room or avenue for tweaking the time. I had to run my son over to practice, left a note on the door - was away 17 minutes and they claim to have arrived and departed in that time.

I had no way to contact them, dispatch refused to return the installers. I had to wait another week for delivery costing $$$$ in laundromat. Will use another retailer to avoid using this service. When machine finally arrived, installer was very nice, but failed to level the machine, so it's first load sounded like a bombing! Sigh - won't do it again.

Very bad customer service. I had Mayflower move my things into storage and then into a house we purchased. I used storage for 4 months. They packed and unpacked for me. All told, I paid them over 10k for all services. I submitted a $150 claim for an electronic that was never located once we were all unpacked. They denied my claim. The reason is that I submitted the claim nearly 30 days after they moved me.

The claim was made well within their stated claim time frame. After all the money I spent with them, they keep another $150 because? Because they can. I'm very disappointed and will never use or recommend Mayflower. If they are so greedy they keep $150, what would they do if your claim was for more? Never using them again. What a disgrace this company is.

This is the worst moving company and you should NOT even consider working with them. In addition to the extensive amount of damage to furniture and items in boxes, there were many missing (aka stolen) items - whole boxes and specific items in plastic boxes that were easy to open and take items out of as a big portion of our move were items stored for nearly a year in storage containers with the company.

We called to complain and asked for a company manager to come out and view the damage and pictures we had taken but apparently Mayflower was too busy finding a way to take advantage of the next customer to come and see for themselves the reality of our situation. While the movers were unloading our truck, a neighbor in our new neighborhood drove by, rolled down the window and indicated that Mayflower is the worst company ever and he was surprised to see them still in business. I wish that we had paid more attention to the reviews - don't make our mistake and lament the missing and damaged items and family heirlooms.

There are no redeeming qualities to this company. Their staff are rude and unhelpful. They don't call to inform you they cancelled your delivery. They will outright refuse you service for arguing with them. They only deliver weekdays during work hours, no weekends. So, that means you have to take work off and inconvenience yourself only to have the shipment not show up. This company is on par with Comcast.

I just moved from Chicago to St Petersburg, FL, and used Glen Ellyn Movers. I compared many different moving companies, and these guys are as good as it gets. The price was very reasonable, and did not change from the original quote. The only hiccup was that my shipment coordinator left the company in the middle of my move, but they quickly reassigned me to someone else. I would recommend them to anyone in the Chicago area looking to do a long distance move!

Surprising how these people are still in business. Horrible customer service. We ordered furniture from Z Gallerie and they were the middle men. I had to deal with Donna who was very rude and inflexible with the delivery times. She never called to confirm the delivery time and I had to call few times to figure that out. Although I specifically told her Saturday morning wouldn't work because we had a musical to attend with our daughter that we had already paid for the show, they called exactly in the middle of the show and said they'll be at our place in 15 minutes.

We rushed home and were 5 minutes late and they ended up sending the driver elsewhere. She left a voicemail lying that the driver a lot of deliveries. Talking to the driver, it seemed my delivery was the last and he was going home after that. We ended up cancelling the order with Z Gallerie just out of principle and not wanting to deal with Donna anymore. We'll never shop at Z Gallerie if they deliver their stuff through these guys.

Do not walk. RUN. Run away from this company. Whatever you do, do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EVER. These guys moved us from Chicago to LA and it was the. worst. experience. ever. The sales guy who came out to give us a sales quote blatantly lied to me making promises his company never intended to keep. At every step of this process there was deception, and frustration.

I could write pages on how terrible terrible terrible this place is, but honestly, I've wasted enough time and energy with this place to last a lifetime. But, I did want to let the Yelp! world know that these guys are not to be used or trusted.

My family used Glen Ellyn movers two weeks ago for a local move in Chicago North Shore. We had previously used Golans and were average pleased with them, however made the decision to go with new movers given the amount of things we had. We had one of their reps come to our house and do a walk-through and provide us with a quote. The quote was in line with what other companies offered, and in addition, they offered to send two trucks instead of one just to make fitting the items easier and faster.

The day before the move, they called me to confirm and also to provide me with the name of the crew lead: Baltazar. He and his 4 crew members showed up in time, and did an amazing job, despite the 98 degrees weather! Not only they were careful with our belongings, but they took extra caution even when we told them we didn't require certain things to be handled as fragile.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with everyone on the team, and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. We also came in less than the original quote! Thanks to these guys our move day turned out to be the easiest part of the moving process!

We just moved from a high rise condo in downtown Chicago to Charleston, SC. Glen Ellyn Mayflower Storage Corporation did a magnificent job! Everyone that was involved in making this move happen was extremely pleasant, very accomodating and real professionals. No extra charges and no hassles! They handled everything for us. They packed up our entire condo (over 70 boxes) loaded the truck and delivered it to our new home.

When we unpacked we did not find one broken item (unless you count the cracked lid on a jar of cinnamon). The office staff (Bonnie) stayed very connected to us, calling to check in during each phase of the move to make sure that things were going as planned and that we were satisfied. They even contacted the local Mayflower mover in Charleston to come to our home and remove all the empty boxes.

If I could give them a negative star rating, I would. This is a terrible company. We ordered a large item for delivery and unfortunately, this was the middle man company in the delivery. They messed up the delivery at almost every opportunity, and their customer service was horrible. I would not recommend this company at all. They just cause headaches and frustration!

Made appointment with Mayflower corporate for local agent to come out and do an estimate for a move from Chicago to Dallas. Appointment made, local agent never called to confirm, never showed up to the appointment and never called me at all. Called Mayflower corporate today to find out what happened and reschedule; but the very rude gentleman who answered the phone completely blamed it on me and pretty much they are not willing to accomodate anyone to get new business!

Such a shame since Mayflower has such a good reputation. Will never use this company and will be sure let all my associates know to stay away from this company and their rude service!

I have to agree with all the negative reviews.these folks are just awful! We used them to do a cross country move and store our belongings for three months until we were ready for them. Our items arrived late. they packed our reserve wine collection in PAPER and stuffed TWENTY bottles in each box! Needless to say, 53 of the 125 or so froze and burst. Boxes showed up that were not numbered and inventoried so we have no idea exactly what is missing.

So far, a microwave and some other collectibles that can't be replaced. Don't bother purchasing $250k worth of insurance because they claim responsibility for NOTHING! IF you want your things to arrive safely. DON'T USE THESE GUYS! Horrible experience all the way around.

I never asked them to respond to me. Oh by the way this Larry guy called me two months after my move. That's after I left messages to Glen Allen Moving to have him give me a call TWO MONTH PRIOR. Way to rush to help your clients. This is after I posted this review. I don't know who you are Diane D but DO NOT RESPOND THIS POST! I NEVER WANT ANYTHING MORE TO DO YOU FOLKS AGAIN!

I have moved ever year since 2006. One from Madison, Wi to Chicago and the rest within Chicago (3 times within Chicago). Each time I used different moving companies and always thought that I hired mover who did a "decent" job. In May, I had to move from Chicago to Seattle and had no idea where to start for this move. I decided to use Mayflower for a few reason: - very responsive (Dan- my rep, actually gave me his CELL phone number to call at any time with questions).

Any questions that I asked via email or phone were always answered within that day. - They came to my apartment and looked at everything that I was moving. Based on that, they gave me a hard quote. It was nice to know that there would be no additional costs. - POSITIVE RANKING ON THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU The day before the move, the drive actually called me to introduce himself and give me his contact info incase i needed to reach him during the time that my items were in transit.

On the day of the move, the movers set everything up and arrive 30 minutes early to start tagging all of my items so they would have the full 3 hours to move (my condo only allows 3 hour windows for moving). I really just had to answer my door and that was it. I didn't need to worry about directing them where to go, help them pack, etc. I actually found myself completely as ease and LOVED my movers.

They were amazing! When my stuff arrived in Seattle, the driver called 2 days before to let me know when he was going to arrive and then called the night before to confirm the delivery time. Once again, I just had to open my door and the movers did everything else. NOTHING was broken, damaged, missing and I had a TON of glasses, dishes, LCD tv, silk clothing. I could not recommend this company more! They redefined how moving should be.
