DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are fraudulent thieves and should be shut down immediately. 2 movers came, 1 of them (the owner) just sat in the truck and did nothing while the other mover went through all of our things. They quoted a 1 bedroom at $350 ended up charging $900. They broke furniture, did not go through our old apartment and clear everything and "LOST" at least 5K worth of valuables.

When we called to confront about the missing / stolen PS4, sound bar, laptop, Boise speakers, vacuum (the list goes on) they took zero responsibility and blamed it on us. Even if they truly "lost" these items which is hard to believe, their job is to get our items from point A to point B. DO NOT use this company, they are criminals.

After multiple emails back and forth, the day of the move comes and they don't show because they forgot our booking. Had to call to get them to show up over an hour late. The guy says he's not going to charge us for them having to wait because we didn't have access to the freight elevator because *they* came late. Would never use them again.

I would never use Chicago Movers. I was walking in my neighborhood and men in a Chicago Movers truck kept cat calling me. And the more I ignored have no respect for women. I don't know if I would trust these movers around my daughter or my stuff. Save your time/money and go to a business that actually has respectful people.

Glad that I got a hold of them on time otherwise I would have no movers on time. They had 3 people move my one bedroom apartment. They broke my tv when they had wrapped it and now I have a line and big black dot on my tv. They didn't pay anything to fix it. Just fortunate to have movers on my moving day

First, these guys saved me. I had another mover cancel on me, and these guys were able to come over on less than 24 hours notice. More than that the guys were pretty friendly and extremely helpful AND completed the move quickly and carefully. However, the wallet in which I had part of my tip money was mysteriously empty following the move. Whatever, I was going to give it to them anyway, so I subtracted that from what I was going to tip.

In the same vein, two of them used a bathroom at the back of our basement and shortly thereafter, a coin collection from my grandfather had been opened, moved, and manipulated. The other thing is the movers bragged to me about convincing their boss that the THC extract that they were smoking during the move was just tobacco vaping. Now, I'm no prude but I was internally not amused that my movers were actively smoking weed on the job, and even less so that they openly admitted they lied to their boss about it. There's no reason to trust these guys, especially considering the boss got an engineering degree and went into moving because "the money was better."

Stay away! I used Chicago Movers based on a recommendation from a friend, man I wish I had read the reviews beforehand! Ali (owner/boss/whatever) gave me a quote over the phone of $120/hr for 3 guys. Ali and 3 guys show up and move everything and at the end Ali says he is going to charge me $159/hr for 4 guys. The thing is, I didn't see Ali lift a finger the whole time he was there, he just stood around while the 3 men moved everything but then charged me for his time, without specifying this beforehand.

In addition, many of my items were scratched and/or damaged during the move. There clearly wasn't much care taken when moving items and none of the furniture was wrapped. My computer monitor and sound bar were both damaged. My TV was awkwardly wrapped in only a moving blanket and tape, I'm shocked it wasn't damaged. My mattress (which I put in a plastic bag), had dirt and grime all over it. Ali didn't seem to care at all, and said it was impossible because everything was "hand carried" so it couldn't get dirty or damaged. Save yourself the hassle and go with many of the other movers with 5 star reviews.

I had Chicago Movers move me from my condo into a storage unit on May 14, 2018. First, the two movers arrived almost two hours later than their planned time. Clearly they did not get along and started to argue and cuss at each other in front of me. I had my belongings packed, wrapped and ready to move quickly. One of the movers worked hard while the other spent 10 minutes wrapping a box fan with plastic. Really?

Its a box fan. I spoke up and mentioned that he was wasting too much time. He asked me where my boyfriend was- and then told me that if he was a good boyfriend he would've been there to help me move. Excuse me? My boyfriend was at work. Working. And I am paying you to move me. Unprofessional. Second, the movers LOST my bed rails and planks to my IKEA bed.

I didn't know it then since my stuff was put into storage, but when I was moved into my house last weekend (by STI movers- they are fabulous). parts of my bed were missing. I am assuming they left them in my old building because they were rushing once I got upset about their lack of progress in 3 hours. I had to drive out to the suburbs and buy replacement parts just so I could sleep in my new house. Third, they put tape on my desk drawers to keep them closed.

The paint was removed when I tried to get their packing tape off. I didn't ask them to do this- it's dumb to put tape on furniture. My desk is damaged. They also broke one of my end table's legs, but I am going to say that sometimes these things happen. Last, the move was unprofessional from beginning to end. I wasn't going to Yelp or complain but when I realize how much of my stuff was missing or damaged.

The entire move took way longer than it should've taken so the mover knocked off an hour. and only charged me for 4 hours. Honestly, I paid a little more for STI Movers and they helped me place my furniture where I wanted it and got me entirely moved in 3 hours. Don't use them. I wish I wouldn't have!

Great service! They did a wonderful job! We contacted them on short notice and they were able to accommodate us with moving my son out of his apartment on the 31st and into his new apartment the 1st (though basically across the street, but they stored goods overnight). They got there to pick up as well as when they delivered ahead of schedule, with 4 guys. They were quick, courteous, careful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend them.

Originally we had booked another company who somehow messed up our email confirmed move time. My husband found Chicago Movers and they were available. They showed up when they said they were going to and even called us on the way to let us know they were 10-15 minutes away. They got to our place and were ALL BUSINESS, and moved our stuff out with a quickness.

It took them about 1 hour 1/2 and about the same amount of time to move in. They were professional didn't destroy anything. They even had to removed the door and promptly put it back on when they were done. Their rates are reasonable and they were even cheaper than our original company. I would definitely use them again!

Did not show up for my move. Did not call, did not even attempt to make the situation right. I would not recommend at all.

Easy. Fast. Polite. Careful. Efficient. Safe. Very reasonably priced. We have used these guys MANY TIMES over the last 15+ years and they are terrific! I've NEVER had them damage anything. Always on time! They carefully wrap and handle anything. They often ask my wife if we want them to arrange the furniture for her. They communicate clearly via email or cell phone. Great workers - we'll keep using them and we'll keep recommending them!

I had originally booked a move with another moving company, but when I went to reserve the elevator on my move-out date, the building management told me they couldn't give me the elevator until later in the day because someone else was moving in. So I scrambled to find another mover, and ended up calling Chicago Movers. There were a total of 5 men involved in the move.

They arrived at around 11:30 to start packing and wrapping furniture, and started bringing stuff down in the elevator at 12:00 when the freight elevator was reserved for me. They were very thorough in putting padding on the furniture when they moved it, as well as boxing my TV set to protect it, and they even boxed a few loose items I had around. They knew how to disassemble and reassemble my king-sized bed to move it, and I also had to have them detach the mirror from my dresser because I was placing it by the bedroom window and didn't want the mirror blocking the window.

Both my old and new apartments are one-bedrooms, and there were 12 pieces of furniture and 10 boxes of smaller items. The whole process took about 3 hours, 2 to pack, load and move, and 1 to unload and set up furniture. The bill was $655 including 3 hours of labor, the $75 truck fee, and packing supplies.

Chicago Movers hoisted a couch for me from the ground to my 3rd floor balcony. They showed up early, worked efficiently and got my into my condo without any hiccups. I would recommend them.

We used them to move our Chicago office multiple times, good experience and no complaints.

The bottom line is that Chicago Movers ruined one of our expensive, new pieces of furniture even after repeated requests to properly cover and wrap. Absolute worst experience with movers ever! They also showed up an hour late with no apologies, were incredibly slow, careless and somewhat rude. I was promised we would get either a replacement piece for our ruined headboard or an insurance claim made. Almost 2 months later and Ali (manager/owner) has done nothing even after many, many calls from me. Do not hire these movers. You'll be sorry.

I received wonderful, fast, professional service from this company when I moved from storage to my apartment about 4 weeks ago. In fact, I am so pleased with my experience that the 1- and 2- star reviews baffle me. I don't know what exactly went down with those reviewers, but I really cannot say enough good things about Ali and his team. They moved everything so quickly, they were great about asking which room to put things (I didn't care where things went actually, which may have helped it all go more quickly), and they were such a nice, polite team. Nothing was damaged or misplaced. I will definitely use this moving company again and I highly recommend them to anyone else!

AVOID this company! Believe other reviews. We didn't read Yelp first (worst decision) and only chose them because we had next day move in (had moved out a few weeks before for leak) and they were the only ones available (should have taken that as a sign.). Short story: After paying early (husband was leaving later and wanted to use his CC, so paid an hour before scheduled to leave), Ali, who is a 55-year-old man claiming to be owner (if he is, then eek!), refused to move anything else, screamed that he was not going to work anymore because they had worked too hard, then WALKED OUT of the job an hour earlier than we paid for!

I don't understand how this business still exists. Stay away and save your money! We wanted to use The Professionals Moving Specialists, who we used a few weeks before but weren't available last minute next day. Use them! 3 young guys who were extremely coordinated with one another and worked so quickly and professionally. Need to write them a review after this nightmare.

I called this company a day before I needed to move my moms 1 bedroom condo into my house and they helped me out. The movers were on time, professional, and very careful with my items. The total price was less than a few estimates I recieved from other places. Would use chicago movers again!

I had Chicago Movers move my one bedroom apartment yesterday - very happy with the service. Although they were half an hour late, they quickly moved everything out of my old apartment (from the second floor with stairs) in less than 45 minutes. We had to stop and pick up a couple other things at another location and then were off to my new apartment. Willie, Erick and Deshaan carried a full one bedroom apartment up to my third floor walk up - and it what must have been record timing!

They were very polite, kind and considerate with my belongings. I would definitely hire Chicago Movers to move my apartment again. Be aware there is a $20 credit card charge should you decide to use one - it was worth it to me for the added security with my bank. The only reason for the four stars is because they were half an hour late, which when scheduling elevators and whatnot, isn't the most convenient.

PLEASE, do yourself a BIG FAVOR and DO NOT book Chicago Movers. They are absolutely the WORST starting with the owner Ali. I had the most horrible experience with them. First they were 45 minutes late for my move and I had the elevators in my building reserved for a special time. Secondly, they charged my $40 for wardrobe boxes that were torn and damaged and did not hold up my clothes in the move. Thirdly, their movers sat in their truck idly for 30 minutes, wasting my time and charging me for that time.

But more importantly, they caused a HUGE amount of damage to my newly painted walls and newly finished hardwood floors. Not to mention a gash on the corner of my dresser. We told them REPEATEDLY that the house was newly renovated and they needed to be very, very careful. I asked them to remove the wood legs on my couch prior to trying to fit through our narrow staircase and Willy, the main guy, said he couldn't take them off because they were bolted in.

After trying to move the couch unsuccessfully, he then decided to take off the legs (which were not bolted down but rather screwed in) in mid-air while the other 2 movers held the couch up. After I called the owner Ali to explain my experience, and I sent him pictures of all the damage, estimates to have the damage repaired, he DARED to tell me that the reason I'm upset is because they couldn't fit the couch in.

I was very clear in that my disappointment was not with the couch being too big, but instead with all the damage which he claimed his "PROFESSIONAL" movers would never have done. Funny, because the walls were finished being painted on Thursday and the movers moved us in on Friday. To top it all off, Willy, dared to hint to my husband that he should receive a tip after all the damage he and his crew caused. Please, please, please DO NOT book them.

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and disputed the charges with my credit card company so they won't get a cent. I just wanted Ali to pay for the damages which were $450, but instead he now won't get anything out of the $978 they charged me for their joke services.

I had a great experience with this company; they showed up on time, worked hard and we're able to move two apartments, across town, to a 3-story walk up in about 4.5 hours - amazing! The team captain, Deshaan, was so friendly and clearly had command of his team. They communicated about each item and because of that, all our items were placed in the right spot and not broken.

What I really loved was that his entire crew introduced themselves to me and my boyfriend and made a point to let us know that they were there to make our lives easier and treat our items with respect and care. I've had a lot of moving experiences in the last 10 years and this was by far the best. Moving itself sucks, but Deshaan and his crew, Alfredo, Lovell and Monte made it so much easier. If I ever get the strength to move again - we'll be using them.

Please never ever use this company they are horrible. The manager or owner Ali is a liar and according to his employees a terrible boss. On May31 we were supposed to move movers were supposed to come from 11-1 they showed up at 7 after many calls to Ali we were told 2 trucks broke down later we found out that was a lie. We were promised a truck at 7 am the next day, they showed up at 100.

We should have been priority but clearly he didnt care. He never called to say he was sorry or anything i reviewed my phone records and I had to call 27 times. Also when the movers showed up they had a small truck and had to make 3 trips. I give them no stars. Although the movers were great they should find a new company to work for. I would never call them again

I recently used Chicago movers to move from a high rise to a first floor walk up. I am so pleased with my experience! Three movers arrived on time, which was important because I had a small window of elevator and loading dock space reserved in the building I was leaving. The movers were professional, polite, and friendly. Despite the heat, terrible humidity, and heavy boxes the guys worked quickly, but carefully to get the job done.

Everything arrived in one piece and undamaged. I am a happy camper- except for all those boxes that I now have to unpack. But in all seriousness, I am satisfied with Chicago Movers and their ability move all my heavy crap.
