Damaged items stuffed a lawnmower on top of other items.of course some stuff will get damaged in a move.however the one star is more than they deserve. they sprayed from sort of pesticide soaking interior contents inside the box. the smell was horrible and entire contents had to be thrown out! They did try to give me stuff that wasn't even mine which I did not accept. Move yourself at least when it gets ruined you have only yourself to blame.

We have used Time Moving and Storage for all of our moving needs from a 200 person office to an individual apartment. They are responsive, organized and attentive. It has been almost 20 years and over 20 moves at which they have excelled. Jim, Tom and Rodney have been constant contact points for most of that time and have been a pleasure to work with. I always point anyone who needs a moving company in their direction and will continue to do so in the future.

Moved furniture for a two-bedroom apt from MA to NY. Very helpful advisor on the phone to arrange the move. The crew who came to get our stuff were polite, professional, and efficient. Stuff arrived on the date promised. I have nothing bad to say about their work. I loved how the move turned out. So happy! Service: Interstate moving

I Have been using Time Moving and Storage in my current position for 6 years. I have (3-4) in house movers providing service in my facility. They are prompt attentive and willing to go the extra mile to complete all tasks given to them safely and efficiently. The office staff is also courteous and conscientious about all billing and shredding matters. The leadership in the office has worked as a partner in always coming up with innovative ways to improve processes. They have been a staple in my team.

I was a Facility Director at a Major NYC Hospital. Phased Construction and the need to move Departments quickly was critical. Time was always there for us with move support and movable equipment storage. They are simply the best around. Services: In-state moving, Moving-related storage, Moving-related packing, Moving-related junk removal, Local moving, Oversized-item moving

TOTAL RIPOFF! It would take about 2 days for me to name all the ways this company ripped me off but I'll try to keep it short and simple. I literally moved 50 yards away from my old apartment to another apartment in the same complex. Please tell me why my total invoice was $1000+ for a one bedroom apartment! On top of that, while moving one of the movers asked for something to drink, ummm dude EVERYTHING is packed up!

Then he asked could he run to the nearest 7-eleven, HELL NO, I'm paying by the hour! I was so fed up! There were clearly trying to get over on me because I was a single woman with no help. I was new to the area then and didn't know as many people as I know now so I'll take this as a learning experience. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

This is to give you an update on Best time movers. They have changed their name to Green time movers. The old reviews are still on Yelp BEWARE BEWARE do not let this company fool you. I believe that the recent reviews under their new name are fake. The Attorney General knows about the company and their ways. Call them or him Brad Barlow has a big file on them. They change their names and has false reviews

Where are the zero stars? It was so bad that I took them to court. It was a hellish move and they double charged me, held my stuff hostage, and didn't even finish the job. I took them to small claims court and, after a long battle, I won and was reimbursed. Save yourself the time, money and effort and use any other moving company but Best Buy. Simply the worst.

NO STARS This company is the worst ever. I moved from MD to NYC, and they quoted me $2000. When they got to NY, they would not unload my stuff unless I gave them another $1000 - in cash. They held my stuff hostage! I should have called the cops but I caved. The people at the office were horrible and the movers were clueless. I think they picked them up by the road side. Please, never ever use these people. I reported them to the BBB but it seems they are still in business.

Just don't. These people are the worst. It's a total bait and switch. The amount that they charge for supplies is unreal. The quote went up $600 from the phone to when they took a look at my items. The time that they quoted that it would take was high, but it was the day of my move, and I felt stuck. It seemed like they were taking their time and stayed just 5 minutes into the next hour.

I had to pay the whole thing. I filed a claim with them after they snapped the leg off of my coffee table. It was conveniently hidden behind other boxes so I didn't see it until after they had left. They didn't pay me for the broken coffee table, rather they paid me for the leg they broke.which amounted to $3. Worst. If I could give negative stars, I would.

This was THE WORST moving company I have every used! They DESERVE NEGATIVE ten stars! I have moved a few times in the DC/VA area! They quoted me $300 to move my one bedroom apartment, which is basic. All I own is a queen size bed, a small dresser, a glass kitchen table, and a coffee table and 2 end tables. The guy who showed up, Pirvor (all I have is his last name), said that it would cost approximately $900!

I called the company and spoke to Ashley who stated that would be the cost. I told them to forget it. I will figure it out and find other movers and she stated that I would have to pay the $300 anyways! So I was stuck with these guys! Privor was verbal abusive. DId not move half my stuff! I needed the storage unit moved and he refused to move anything in there besides the tv.

When my time was almost up, they were putting the last few things in the elevator and he stated that to finish he will charge me the last hour! So I moved that stuff myself. He also made me take my clothes out of my dresser.which I have never heard of! And he made me pay him before we left my first apartment.when the move was half way through! I asked him for a PIECE of tape to tape a box and he said I had to buy 6 rolls which would cost me $27! Ashley, the lady who was answering the main number. Hung up on me when I was complaining.

After the move I called back to ask her questions. She stated she had no boss I could talk to! She also stated that I was being difficult! I asked her if she hung up on me, she said "no I put you on hold". I asked then why she didn't call back! She had no answer! I ended up paying $468 for my move! I have NEVER written a yelp review before.but I have never met such HORRIBLE people in my life!

THE WORST COMPANY OF ALL TIME! If i could i wouldnt give a star. My move they arrived late due to the truck breaking down no one called me i had to call them several times to get updates. I was scheduled for 8-9am and they showed up at 2pm. The manager i am assuming was on of my 3 guys and did just about nothing but hold a clip board and try to charge me $700 for a small move when i was quoted $300.

This is a rip off. They didnt apologize for being 7 hours late or try to help me out with free wrapping of items. They instead tried to nickel and dime me after they started to move things on the truck. There is a itemized sheet they dont tell you about when you sign up where you are charged to box, wrap, bubble wrap, rent furniture pads $6 each, purchase tape.

I have moved several times and have alll these things and asked so i could be prepared and in that 7 hours i waited couldve done this. I was told they would handle it and yeah they sure would for an extra $400. The 2 other movers were great and efficient just sucks that they work for a corrupt company with horrible customer service. They get the one start i wish i could give the company negative scores like everyone else has done. I agree with everyone else and wish i had seen this before i signed the initial contract.

WORST TIME MOVERS My experience was similar to the previous reviews. Quoted $375 on the phone for a 1 bedroom apt move, and when it was all said and done, they charged me $747! These people are thieves and liars. They caused damage to the walls in my apartment during the move, and when I called them on, they literally said "we don't cover walls". EXCUSE ME?

They charged me for a 3 man move, and 2 men actually did ALL the heavy lifting (2 very small latin american men, who busted busted their asses in the heat) while the third man, sat on his ass and took "inventory". What sort of inventory, you ask, since they're moving MY belongings? they charged me for the packing materials like tape, and blankets and bubble wrap! I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau, and I will be following up. This is absolutely ridiculous! STAY AWAY!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! That low bid they give you is bait and switch. My daughter had almost exactly the same experience as below. They jacked up her bid from $595 to over $1600. She is a law student and when she informed them of the illegality of what they were doing.they cut and ran, leaving her stranded. I have no idea how these people are still in business or how they have escaped prosecution.

I'm glad I read about this place first on Yelp, or else I might be giving a bad review too. Here's what it comes down to: this is a high-quality and CHEAP moving company. BUT: the price they quote is inaccurate. As EVERY moving company does, to avoid liability, they wrap everything in layers and layers of foam, bubble wrap, etc. and they you get charged for it.

Their estimate is for moving without that charge, but unless you have miles of packaging material lying around, you might pay double or more of your estimate. So why do I recommend them? Because unlike other companies, you can ASK to be liable for your own furniture and skip the packaging costs. This will mean a final price around half of what you would pay with any other company.

I wouldn't even have thought to ask were it not for these reviews. After I accepted liability and declined packaging, I was a bit afraid that they would treat my items roughly to prove a point. Carlos and his team (highly proficient in English, by the way, unlike according to one of the other reviews), however, were consummate professionals, working very gently with my possessions -- but very efficiently.

I could not have been more pleased with their work. All in all, a great experience I'd recommend to anyone -- just so long as you inquire as to what's included, and not, in the estimate.

I called to get a quote for an extremely small move, i.e. an efficiency apartment to a public storage unit less than 3 miles away. the initial estimate seemed fair enough given the circumstances. It was $365 I believe, which is their minimum of 3 hours work plus 1 for travel. The day of the move. I took off work in order to get everything prepared for them to arrive at 3 pm.

At approximately 245 pm I get a call from the foreman saying they weren't going to make it because there was an accident on the beltway earlier and they were still moving their morning job. Rescheduled for first thing in the morning the next day. Fine, but at least have the decency to give more than a 15 minute heads up so that I don't have to waste a day off.

I called back to ask for a discount for wasting my time and got a useless 5% discount. The next day. They arrived at the agreed time and here comes the best part of this endeavor: The hidden charges. I have used movers before and never have felt so ripped off getting charged for common moving items such as blankets @ 6 bucks a pop. I didn't even want these because the move was literally just down the street but they wouldn't move it otherwise. 10 blankets 4 rolls of tape and some ridiculous 25 dollar charge for shrink wrap later I'm already over 100 dollars ahead of the estimate.

Then there was a random 10% fuel surcharge added on to my total as well as a 20 dollar paper processing fee. You can see the trend here. As I had predicted it was a quick move. I really didn't have that much stuff. It took them less than an hour and a half to wrap/pack the furniture, load it, drive, and unload it. Then the head guy asked me to sign off on the initial time.

I couldn't help but notice that he charged me for 5 hours. I questioned that charge and he told me that the minimum is 5. I quickly point out that I have an email saying the minimum is 4 (3 move + 1 travel) which he then reluctantly admits that he will have to give me a refund for. Right after that he had the audacity to ask for tip. Needless to say I will never be hiring this moving "company" again. nearly 500 dollars later for less than 2 hours of work plus getting nickeled and dimed to death over ridiculous fees and materials. I could've hired 3 friends for 100 bucks a pop plus uhaul for less than this. Now I know. Ye have been warned.

I've never had the need to write a review on Yelp, but this company has truly inspired me to do so. First of all, DO NOT HIRE THEM! After that's been established you should know that the first time you call they will be very nice (don't let them fool you) and lie to you about all the hidden charges that will show up in the contract that they will email you.

Then the guy that goes to your place (if you get the same one I did) is going to be VERY VERY RUDE and mistreat you every way he can. After the mistreatment, you will start the paper work which will show a price more than double the amount you were quoted originally. When you fight for your money he will tell you to call the company, who will be even ruder to you.

And then the mover won't believe a word you say to him and call the company himself (which he should have done in the first place). He will then say that he needs a lot of packing material, which he will not use but you will be charged for it. And on top of that the packing will be so poor that they WILL DAMAGE EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE YOU OWN.

And of course you won't get your money's worth from the insurance company. After you receive your service you WILL call to complain (trust me you will), they will be on vacation, or not available until 4 hours later, and when they do answer your call they are rude, hostile and even hang-up the phone on you because you are asking for your refund.

In the end, please do yourself a favor and if you don't find any other moving company put all your stuff for sale, in the end you will win instead of losing everything you own because of their sloppy service. P.S. Did I mention they hate disassembling your stuff so they will shove it out the door like a bag of garbage? Well just so you know, THEY WILL!

I wish i could give this company ZERO stars. I should have done my research first. On Fri. June 3, 2011, "Metro Van Lines" first arrived to my apartment stating they couldn't find the loading dock. I told them exactly where the dock was, but then the driver stated to me on the phone "Good luck with your move. Have a nice day." then hung up. I immediately called the company to complain, only to be spoken to by a very nasty and unprofessional woman who would not give me her name.

I sent my family member downstairs to the dock, and when my family member went down to meet them before they left, they were making a U-turn IN THE LOADING DOCK so they could leave. Originally, I was told by the company my total move cost would be $365. I put a down payment over the phone with my credit card of $73 which is equal to one hours work, and I was left with a balance of $292.

I received an email and telephone confirmation of this amount. (I faxed a copy of the email from the company to me) I even called two days later after my $73 deposit to confirm the price of $292 and spoke to Ms. Mariyah who confirmed the $292 price. After my cousin met the movers at the loading dock, the movers came into my apartment and stated some items needed to be wrapped, such as the sofa and love seat, mattresses, etc.

I started signing some papers with him and then he told me my NEW total was roughly $987. Immediately I stated I could not afford to pay that and to please get someone on the phone at the company so I can speak with them about this outrageous amount. He then called the company and told them I wanted to cancel. I told him I NEVER said I was canceling, I only wanted clarification on the amount he was quoting me and I wanted to talk to someone at the company about the amount I was told I had to pay, which was $292.

The mover then told me again to "have a nice day" then walked out. I followed him down the hall trying to figure out what was going on, trying to understand why they were leaving, and demanding the papers back that had my signature. He refused to give me my papers, but we took the papers out his hand and we had to call the police because he refused to give me the carbon copy of my credit card.

When I got back inside, I checked my bank account and they had ALREADY charged my credit/debit card $300. I called the company and they stated they charged me a cancellation fee, when I never canceled, then the woman hung up on me. After several calls from myself and my family, they were also hung up on as well. I am disputing with the charge with my credit union and this company has 67 complaints filed at the Better Business Bureau. Make that 68 complaints.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Please note that Metro Van Lines also disguises themselves as Personal Touch Moving in addition to Best Time Movers. I received quotes from both companies and didn't realize that they were one and the same and that both represent Metro Van Lines. I recently used this company and was totally scammed by Metro Van Lines.

I also received a low estimate ($383) and my total bill came to $1,700. Unfortunately, I was out of town assisting my dad in the hospital on the day of the move so my husband handled the situation by himself even though I made the arrangements and the charge was on my credit card. My husband encountered a similar situation when the company refused to deliver our stuff (which was already loaded on the truck) until he signed the revised estimate which was 5 times greater than the quote I had received.

We didn't think to call the police when they held our items hostage and threatened to put them in storage and bill us if he didn't sign the revised estimate. In retrospect, I wish we had called this police. Now, I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company (Chase Credit Card Services) and they are not cooperating either. They are stating that Metro Van Lines has provided valid documentation for these charges because my husband signed the revised estimate. Needless to say, I feel completely victimized by this situation and am contemplating a law suit. In the meantime, I wanted to share the news about the company and discourage people from using Metro Van Lines.

Simple, DO NOT USE THEIR (TERRIBLE) SERVICES. I would have given them negative stars if possible. A terrible experience that mirrors the other reviews on this page, except that I did not have the wherewithall to call the police. I was told that for 4 hours and moving 2 miles the cost would be $375. After everything was loaded in the truck and we were at the new apartment, I was then told about $300 additional dollars in cost from materials and truck fees, and to get my stuff out they needed me to sign off -- I had no choice.

The materials were used to protect such items as my mattress and couch (breakable I suppose.). I called the office the next day to discuss the extravagant payment. After leaving numerous messages, having my calls get dropped while waiting on hold, and having staff supposedly not be in the office, I finally spoke with the manage, Gingi, 3 weeks after my move.

She told me there was nothing she could do, and that since I called so much later I was even in a worse position. I then asked her why her company baited me with a low price and then after they had me by the privates (my stuff in a truck), then raised their cost considerably. I then asked if she ever gets repeat customers and she effectively agreed me that they fleece their customers the first time and never expect to work with somebody again.

Basically she then hung up on me. DO NOT USE BEST IN TIME MOVERS. Hire day laborers and rent a truck, or use a company that respects its customers and holds itself to some sort of ethical standard.

Think it's coincidence all their positive reviews are posted verbatim on multiple sites? I think its all their own internal marketing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I called to ask for an estimate on moving. After I was given the estimate, I was told I needed to put down a deposit to hold the date. Since my dates were up in the air, I asked if I would be able to change them, and if I had to cancel if I would be charged anything.

I was told twice that I would not be charged anything if I canceled 3 days in advance. I was also told that I would receive an email that would be how I would confirm. I have yet to receive this email. Within 30 minutes my moving plans had changed (house i've been renting has been foreclosed, that's another post!) and I called to cancel and was told AT THAT point that the $75 was nonrefundable.

This was the first that had been mentioned, and I had specifically asked if I was going to be charged anything at all if I canceled and was told no. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to Chloe. She was rude, short and hung up on me. I called back to ask to speak to her manager, Betsy, and she was more professional at first, but her tone quickly changed and she was also rude and hung up on me.

I understand if a deposit is nonrefundable it is nonrefundable. But that was never explained to me, and I was lead to believe that I wouldn't have to pay that $75 if I canceled 3 days in advance. Had I known it was nonrefundable, I never would have paid it to begin with, as I knew my moving plans were up in the air. Had I not even specifically asked multiple times if i would be charged anything at all if i canceled 3 days in advance, I would not feel like I'd been mislead. There is no way I will now trust this company to load my stuff onto a truck.

Should be called "Worst Time Movers." They're basically extortionists. They showed up at my apartment with a truck that was too large, forcing them to park hundreds of feet away, which greatly increased the loading time. Before starting they rattled off a list of charges for everything they would do. I'm surprised they didn't charge me for the clothes they were wearing as required materials for the move.

What can you do on move day though? Say, "No thanks, I just remembered I don't have to be out of this apartment by this afternoon. I'll just move everything myself when I have the time." Riiiight. They know they have you over a barrel. The quote was for about $400, which they said covered 3 men for 4-5hrs. It took them close to 9hrs. I only moved 2 blocks down the street! Plus, they computed an extra hour and when I called them on it, they said some BS about 1hr of travel EACH way to justify the extra hour, on top of the 10% fuel and travel fee.

He said he arrived at 8am when he actually got there at 9am. He also counted 8am as being the 1st hour instead of 8-9am being the first hour. By that time, I just wanted them gone and paid them. The final bill was close to $1000! I even supplied them with my own box tape (they charge $4.50/roll and use it like it's going out of style) and packed most of the stuff myself!

They charge you an exorbitant amount for everything! 6ft of bubble wrap for my hutch was $35. Each couch wrapped in plastic - $25. "Move your TV? $75 please." Needless to say, they are never getting my business again and I make it a point to tell every single one of my friends never to use them for anything. Use Bookstore Movers instead. Their fee INCLUDES ALL MATERIALS!

My friend was completely satisfied with their move with Bookstore Movers. Unfortunately they were booked and I had to use "Worst Time Movers" instead. BEWARE! You will be ripped off!

If I could give Best Time Movers zero stars, I would. My experience is alarmingly similar to Barbara's account below. My friend was moving from Clarendon to north Ballston. 2.7 miles. They quoted her $260. When she read through the material she was e-mailed, she was concerned about them charging her for packaging and called to explain she could package it herself.

The lady on the phone said that it would just require bubble wrap and it would only be an additional $50 to package with that, so my friend was prepared to pay $310 for the move. When the truck arrived at her new residence, they brought her a clipboard to sign with a price of over $1000 and refused to move anything out of the truck until she paid it.

She called the company and the most they offered her was a $200 "discount." When we asked what would happen if we refused to pay it, we were told they would keep the belongings in their storage. We were forced to call the cops. Needless to say, they were on our side. "Best Time Movers"? How ironic.
