An horrid experience on December 1, 2021. They sent "Raul" who wore a shirt that said "Tony's Moving." I told Mike in their office for them to start 9:00 a.m. so he sent me a text at 7:36 saying they were on their way. Raul was the English speaker out of a so-called three man team. They were a two man team with Raul who spent as little time working on my move as possible while charging me as if I had three people working.

I have moved a lot and have NEVER had them start with the small things. Raul wanted me to pay for three people to stand around while I packed boxes although all the large furniture and stacks of boxes were there waiting to be loaded. Raul kept saying something about the weight of the truck like he thought he was piloting an aircraft. This was a less than 7 mile move.

I think he was trying to drag things out because I wouldn't let them start before 9:00. One man worked hard. But I had to constantly hunt down Raul who would be texting in his truck, drinking, standing in the truck talking to another guy, and sweeping and sweeping his truck or organizing his rope. His big contribution would be to periodically come in and look at an obviously full house and ask if we were done.

Over and over I would tell him that we will be done when everything is out of here. One of the gentlemen seemed "slow" but was a hard worker. He needed supervision. Raul could not be bothered to listen to my instructions or supervise him. I told them to pack the closed boxes. So the third man decided that meant he should close the boxes and add things to them before closing.

I had file cabinets that I was giving away. I told Raul that a guy said he was coming at around 10:00 to get them. Raul said it was 10:25, I said I can tell time, and over and over told him to pack the file cabinets last. But for some reason those large objects (as opposed to the other large objects) had to be back right then. Five minutes later the guy came and got the file cabinets like he said.

They weren't through for more than an hour to an hour and after that--it wasn't like there was any reason the file cabinets needed packing then, Raul's behavior was idiotic all day. I would tell Raul what I wanted done with various boxes--he either didn't listen or he would say the boxes said something else on them. They were used boxes-so what?

Can you hear me? So things did not go to the right place--all day. But for a less than 7 mile trip they took the shades off my lamps and removed the light bulbs. Why? To take more time. Had any of the previous crews done such a thing? Of course not - this was not a cross country trek. They drove off leaving the garage with things in it that I had to pack on my own. Raul was just irresponsible.

He let me know in so many ways he did not care. Because they blew off the garage, they got to the new location quite a bit before I did so they got to get get paid for sitting some more. More of me telling them what went in the new place, and what went in the garage. If I told the hard working man by pointing and such, it would go to the right place, if I told Raul who was the only English speaker it was a complete cluster.

The last straw was when Raul (who was finally actually working) came down the stairs with a book case I had told him to put in the storage garage but Raul couldn't hear me because he was on the phone scheduling with other clients again. When I confronted him he said so he was still working. I told him he should not be charging me while working on other people's work, and he messed up because he was not paying attention and was doing other people's business on my time.

So then Raul argues with me about where I told him to put the bookcase. I texted Mike a couple times during this move about Raul. I had used these folks 3 times in the past. It had been a mixed bag with two crews being really good, and never anything like this clown. The most recent had been the previous day with a different efficient crew -- although they charged me 4 hours for 3.5 hours of time.

Then Raul decided - with no documents signed changing the payment procedure--that I needed to pay thirty minutes before they finished or they were not going to unload the rest of my things. Mike refused to condemn or correct the Raul clown for talking on the phone scheduling other things while charging me as if he were doing work for me, demanding payment before finishing the work, holding my things hostage. Mike kept saying let them finish.

What do you mean let them finish? Who stopped them? It was a nightmare. It is a shame because two of the four total crews over the years were really professional. But it is a crap shoot. I think they just sub-contract who ever. And if you call them you could get Raul. My advice? Run!

Well no details needed. Was setup for 12pm to 1pm but they came at 2pm. I have only 2 office table and 1 bed and 1 drawyer and 2 night stand. And little bit of some stuff nothing much at all. Moving distance from 1 apartment to another is just 5-8min. So they basically took 3 hours to finish it. My previous time moving same stuff from same distance is 1hr 38min and now it took 3 hour.

I moved after 1 year lease finished. There was even scratch on my table and bed and drawyer even though they wrap it up. Not sure how this is working but I suggest you find someone else to move your stuff. Not much help here. Dont find my review helpful then please help yourself and order from here and you see for yourself. Good luck to anyone ordering move service from here.

My wife and I moved from a first floor apartment to a third floor apartment across town. American Moving Company set up the move for us and we were able to get all of our furniture in the new place in under 2 hours. The movers did a wonderful job and we appreciated their hard work, especially carrying the furniture up two flights of stairs. They even helped take boxes we were planning to move ourselves. Thanks to American Moving Company, we are now enjoying our new home and will continue using them for future moves. Thanks again for all your services!

I have been using American Movers going on 11 years now. I have had a great experience with them through several moves and Mr. Mike has always been more of a uncle or father figure during this process rather than a business owner. He always makes sure that his workers show up on time and during the move he calls and checks up on me. I cannot imagine moving with anyone else. Mr. Mike cares for his customers, provides great service and makes sure the movers are a great fit for the customer and their given situation.

I cannot imagine allowing anyone else to move my belongings since moving can be tedious. Such a job would require for workers to be of great service, considerate of time, and energetic. Mr. Mike provides those qualities with his services.

This is a very good moving company! First, the movers had their PPE gear to ensure my items were protected. Second, the lead driver contacted me prior to their arrival. Very meticulous to ensure my valuables were wrapped prior to being placed in the truck (I have a prestige white couch). Yes, they even asked me where I wanted my bed located without assumption. Thank you for treating both myself and furniture like royalty:)

Mike and his crew are amazing! I have used American Moving Company for my last 5 moves and every single mover has been wonderful to work with. They take the time to make sure nothing breaks or gets damaged, they're professional, courteous, and on time. I used them this past weekend and they were done with about 30 minutes to spare.

This is the first review I have ever written and I would give 0 star if that was a thing. We only moved 20 minutes away from our old place and the total disregard for someone's property worth money is appalling. Our bed frame has dents and scratches with mirrors on the bed frame missing. Our dining table and other bed has multiple scratches and stains on them.

The thing that hurts me most is our unborn child's brand new white Ikea crib was scratched and the brand new Ikea dresser was damaged beyond recognition, like completely broken. Even though one of the guys offered to fix it (which we further regret), it was returned in a worse state, and in their effort to fix it ended up damaging other areas they had no business with.

He patched up the dresser with some sort of paste and put nails where they shouldn't (See attached pictures). What was even more interesting was the fact that they did not mention the damaged dresser when they were done until my husband noticed it was sitting way in the back of the truck and asked why it was not brought in, that's when they let us know it got broken when they were moving it.

Our nursery pictures for our baby that was inside one of the drawers is no where to be found. My husband was asleep when the bed broke and he fell after they set up the bed in our master bedroom. Thank God I was sleeping on the recliner in the living room since that's what's comfortable for my growing belly. I can't imagine being on that bed when it broke apart.

My husband later found the screws on the bed were screwed on halfway and some missing. We contacted the headquarters and they told us to call the drivers who moved us. Imagine that? No one has answered or returned our calls. Obviously, they will not address it or do anything about it. Nearly everything was stained being in their truck for an hour or so.

The inside of the truck needs a thorough wash because it could change any color to black. I completely regret using their services. Maybe other people had a good experience, as I see all these good reviews but our experience was a nightmare. They can have the 1 star for showing up but absolutely terrible handling of property and belonging. Would not recommend.

The whole process went incredibly smooth. I scheduled the appointment on a Friday and the movers arrived early on Monday morning. Mike and the movers were very friendly and a lot of care was taken to make sure all of my stuff was protected properly. I called around to a few other companies before settling on American Moving and they were by far the best price. I highly recommended them for their customer service and work ethic.

The worst from the owner to the driver to the other crew lead they tried to pawn me off to. They were late, not what the "quote" said then they called an hour after they were supposed to arrive and said they would be another hour and a half, then when we told them we didn't need their services anymore he had the nerve to tell my fiance, we had no other option, since it was so late in the day.

The hell I didn't! I rented a UHaul and within 2 1/2 hours I was moved out of my old apartment as into my new one. The rage of how we were treated and talked to is what gave me the energy to move my own thing and save about 300 dollars.

Don't fall for cheaper rate, they are going to take longer. Worst moving company ever. They dented my fridge and charged $450 for 2 bed apartment stuff. They took 5.5 hours. They showed up with manual screw driver to open my bed. And when I asked about if they have electric screw driver they said no. And at the time of assembling when my wife asked again then they took it out. They purposely took more time. Worst moving company ever.

I'm only giving 1 star because I have to. This company is trash! They broke my new couch that I spent $800 on. They told me that they will only pay.60 per pound. Totals about $120 after paying them $346 to move me. My interaction with the manager Mike was awful. He absolutley did care that my furniture was destroyed. He was rude! Would not give me the owners information to try to resolve this issue. Please do not use this company. They will break your stuff and the guys will milk the clock since you pay by the hour.

I did not have very many items to start with so it was a quick process. Mike was at first speedy with a quick response. The driver was friendly but his helper was not! The problem-- while I'm assembling my bed I notice my new mattress (less than 10 months old) has scratches on the front and back, the threading is pulling up, and A HOLE IN MY NEW MATTRESS!

I contacted Mike about it several times and emailed him photos of the damage and never heard back from him. DON'T use this company, use a legitimate moving service. Don't be fooled by their website. They charge by the item as well so I can see this being very expensive.

AWFUL, they were slow, so slow I had to pay for 2 extra hours! Not only that they ripped my Brand new ( I mean 1 week old!1 ) $1,000 couch and sent me a check for $60.00, no response to my email complaint just mailed a check with a letter that's all ill get! Ummm that will cover nothing on repairs. They lost pieces to my coffee table and left stuff all over the place. Not worth the 400.00 I paid, . quoted $230.00!

When you ask for your moving quote, you need to list EVERY single item that you plan on moving because your quote is based on that. The company never disclosed this, had I known I would've went with another company because they charge way too much. It's better to pay by the hour rather than by how many items you're moving as this company does.

When the movers arrive and you have more items than listed, they will charge you more. They're website states "we will never charge you more." They also charged $15 for the plastic wrap they used. The movers also did not clean after themselves and left plastic wrap on the ground outside by where they parked. I gave 2 stars since the movers did hustle, but I also gave them each $40 tip!

My bad luck with movers has finally disappeared! A few days ago American Moving did an amazing job of moving my apartment into my storage unit! Not only were they fast & professional, they figured out how to make everything fit. I'll be using them again!
