Do Not Hire! I called this company to move me. A rep came to my home and gave me an estimate, provided me a receipt and I confirmed I absolutely needed them to move me on the date given. This was several weeks in advance. I called to confirm a week prior and the woman who answered (manager) told me I was not on the schedule! She was rude and raised her voice telling me if I looked at receipt it states I "must" call to confirm.

She also said the rep didn't even have the authority to schedule me at all. The word must is not listed, nor did the rep tell me I needed to call. It was my understanding I was booked based upon my conversation with the rep I told her I am settling on my house and MUST move or sale won't happen. She said they are fully booked, can't help me and most likely no one else can on short notice.

I asked to speak to the owner and she said he would only have her talk to me and she then hung up on me after yelling at me. Customer service is horrendous! Luckily I found another local mover who was far more professional, understanding, and went out of his way to schedule me in. Saved sale of my home! Shoretime Moving highly recommend!

My wife and I just completed a move from Crofton to Tampa, FL. The team of Mike, Dan and Seth was incredible. In 3 hours they had loaded our rental truck with everything very carefully packed inside. I wish I had taken before and after pictures to show that absolutely nothing moved during the nearly 1,000 mile trip. Everything arrived safely without a scratch. They were worth every penny. I highly recommend this company for your next move.

Great team! Polite, professional crew. Showed up on time, kept to the schedule and came in under budget/estimate. Highly recommend.

Critical: Quality The Mover was very nice but some of my property is Missing. I pray they return it. Watch out your stuff will go missing. You didn't have to take my belonging. Also price not what they Quoted you.

We moved from Shady Side to Dunkirk on Friday (1/14/2022). Two big trucks and 5 guys showed up exactly at 8:30. We were completely in our new house by noon. I still can't believe it. Extremely friendly and professional. We couldn't be happier!

We had 2 movers David & Barry who were the best. They were extremely polite & took great care of every item that they moved. We moved items to 2 different locations & it was flawless. Would highly recommend to everyone who is looking for a GREAT experience.

We were very pleased with our move. We had Chris as our driver/supervisor and 3 helpers to load up and 2 helpers to unload the next day. All the employees introduced themselves and were very friendly, polite and professional. The guys knew each other's strength and made sure that the most able bodied person moved the heavier pieces. Chris made sure they had everything where we wanted before they left We would highly recommend this company to anyone!

Moving is stressful, but out of all of the contractors and services needed throughout the moving process, A-One was by far the best experience. They were professional, communicative, extremely hard working, careful with our belongings, and flexible. We moved a 2200 sq ft SFH and two sheds. They disassembled and assembled our daughters loft bed (a huge pain - they made it look easy) as well as our queen bed no problem.

No dings or scratches on a single item. It was clear they had not only done this many times, but were all about customer experience. They quoted the same amount as 2 other companies, and came in under budget at the end of the day. 100% recommend.

I will not advice anyone to use this company to move. The first and last time I used them was to move my stuff to a new apartment less than 20 blocks and paid them 950.00 for less than 1 bedroom apartment. The Russian guys moving my items was very weak and lazy please avoid them at all cost. They broke my items and the company refused replacement of my item.

The sales rep called me out of the blue and when I explained that I had already paid another company, he yelled at me and told me I was stupid and dumb. I called to report him and was promised a follow-up. I never received one. If this is any indication of how they do business I highly recommend not moving with them! There are plenty of other great moving companies to choose from in NY.

I just used A1 for my move from Philadelphia to Brooklyn and I would highly recommend them for your east coast long distance moving needs. They arrived with a friendly and experienced moving team and worked with me to store my things over night in Brooklyn and deliver them as I couldn't move in until the 1st of the month. Everything was secured and safe when I arrived to Brooklyn.

Very good experience with these guys overall and would use them again especially now that I am local in Brooklyn. Shout outs to my movers Bob & Perry for being so friendly and efficient. Lou and everyone in Donna's office who worked with me and kept a good flow of communication on the days of my moves. Thank you all!

Ohh where do I begin with this review/company? I know! How about the worst experience that I've ever had with a company? I called A-One for a quote (done with Eric) and received a reasonable pricing; which included a pickup date of the 24th and delivery date of the 26th (which I made sure that that delivery date would happen given the fact that I had the cable company coming on the 26th in the evening- and yes, I did mention this to Eric.) During our conversation Eric even waived the stairs fee that most moving companies charge (I was on the fourth floor.) Two days before my pickup date someone, who I guess was the manager and I think his name was David, called me to rudely tell me that the delivery date was most likely not going to be until the 27th!

Which meant that one- I would have to miss a day of work and two- I would have to cancel the cable company and be charged for it because they have a 72 hour window cancellation policy :( After arguing with the owner to no happy results my items did end up being delivered on the 26th though it was late in the evening and with a few surprises-of course.

During the pickup of my items the driver charged me an extra $60 because my tv stand was glass and therefore it needed to be bubble wrapped for an extra fee (mind you I told Eric about this item when I first made the reservation and I was not told that there was an extra charge.) Then when the men were done loading the items it came time to my"real" quote.

My original quote was supposed to be $945 dollars. The final quote I was given was $1200+ :( so needless to say, I was not happy. When I called A1 (Eric) to find out what was going on he proceeded to tell me about the glass stand I had, the extra storage space I took up (which conveniently came up to an extra $157 and is totally bogus by the way) as well as charges of fuel and all that garbage. Really?

Why wasn't the mention of fuel existent during our initial conversation? Can you say, hidden fees? Anyway, it gets better, when my items were finally delivered to the address I found that my garbage can was dented, my couch was missing a piece that holds one of the arms securely in place and a leg on my coffee table was broken. I don't know what these people were doing with my items or what kind of delivery company A-One has but needless to say my experience was less than crappy and I would not recommend them to anyone; not even my worse enemy.

This place either needs new management/workers or better training because clearly the staff is less than up to par. Accept for Eric's supervisor who is a female (don't remember her name but she was kind and apologetic and the only reason why I gave 2 stars and not 1). Judging from the other reviews they seem to be better at local moves-stick with what you're good at-end of story! Oh and A-One, I'm reporting you to BBB. Have a nice day

I have never been more happily surprised than I was with the results of my A1 Movers move. Not a scratch or ding on anything! Four very personable and understanding movers! A great team lead in Stephan! Nancy in the office was exceptional. And the price was right on point! Thank You A1.

I did my research for months on my move and Aone is in fact A1. So I contacted them a million times to go over the contract as I have been burnt in the past with shady companies. But I must say that A-one lived up to my expectation to the max. On the day of my move, the driver called me at exactly 3 minutes to 8am and my move started within 5 mins.

As I had to be in my new building by 3pm I wanted as early start as possible. These guys were super human. My 3 bedroom was packed and ready by 1045am. The trick to moving is to ensure that everything is packed. The guys came in and took the rooms by storm, The only thing is that the office didn't tell me that they would charge extra for the piano, even though I have wrapped the heck out of it.

All my furniture was packed, sealed and ready for them. The only job they had to do was to take it to the truck. I had to sign a waiver because I had packed my own stuff. They broke a large standing mirror, which I believe happen when they struggled with the piano. But I must say taking the piano out was a huge challenge and I must admit these guys were good.

If they had to pack my stuff then it would have taken much longer and cost more. The guys were really great and pleasant. Thank you A-one, I should give you full stars but my mirror broke. Maybe I should call and find out about the insurance. And I feel that the office should have told me about the additional cost for the piano. But for the most part I will give them full score because they were super fast i would give them a full five but i was a bit grrrr that they didnt tell me about my piano upfront and that they charged me for that and that my mirror got broken but they were good

Booked a move with A One Van Lines and they were wonderful, fast, reliable and very efficient. Booked my move with Susan, she was wonderful and very helpful. All my furniture was in perfect condition and the estimated time that they would be there was perfect. It was a pleasure moving without any problems or worries. I moved from Brooklyn to California, I was very nervous since it was a far distance, but it was perfect and I'm very glad.

Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to move worry free! I'm really glad I took the risk, it was the best decision I could've made. I have a lot of furniture that is fragile and I was nervous

A1 bought my name from a leads service as someone moving from New Jersey to Florida. Beyonkia Sheen called and e-mailed me endlessly after being asked to stop and remove me from their lists. She continued to press for inventory and agreement after being told I would not be doing business with her company. She called back abusing me. Then send another e-mail. It was my error to ask for information on line -- movers pay substantially for these leads.

Wow. read all these reviews. I did. I thought they weren't true, since the cityguide gave this company such great reviews. but really, the estimate of my move was $450, with my complete list of all the furniture I had. Then the total at the end of the day was $1800. do not use this company unless you have lots of money to waste on guys who steal your jewelry and take their sweet time. seriously. they seemed to be doing a good job, until i got the bill and found a valuable necklace missing. of course it was more than just that, it was the fact that the initial estimator wants to get your business then the final bill is 4 times that!

We hired A-One to move us from brooklyn to queens. We packed everything and just had them load it and drop it off at our new place. We called them to confirm that they will be here by 11am, they got here past 12. we're all in brooklyn here, they're probably 15min drive away from us, how did they manage to show up 1 hour late i will never know. 1 star off for that.

The move itself wasn't bad, the price was very reasonable, considerably cheaper than what other movers offered. and the loading, trip there, and unloading was all pretty straight forward, nothing to complain about here. They just need to learn to be here on the agreed time.

The quote I got from these guys to move from nyc to florida was the best out of the companies I called, which is why I went with them. Once the movers got here they got my stuff onto the truck and said I had more things than what I described so they charged me extra. I think I would have saved some money if I went with someone else. The move itself wasn't too bad, everything got there on time and in one piece, but they seriously need to stick with the quotes they give out.

BEWARE, STAY AWAY! This is the most unprofessional moving company out there. I reported this company to the BBB. I don't even know where to begin. I used them because their sales associate assured me they have been in business for many years and they have no claims with the BBB, she explained they do everything in their power to ensure customer satisfaction.

Well this customer is extremely unsatisfied. First, they guarantee a 14 day delivery from the date you call, which is untrue. I called less than a week after they moved my stuff out of my NY apartment, and did not get my things until 3-4 weeks later. When my items arrived to LA from NY three boxes were missing and the guy in charge told me the boxes had already been discarded.

Much to my dismay, when I looked later to see if the boxes were in the trash they were not. I called A-One immediately and did not hear back until I threatened to sue and opened a case with the BBB. They then came back and said they found my boxes and then weeks later (when I called to get an ETA) I was told the boxes actually were not mine. This company will give you the run around and they are incredibly rude and unpofessional. I am actually pursuing a legal case against them. Legally we (all the other dissatisfied customers on here) are entitled to a resolution regarding our belongings.

I hired A-One Moving & Strorage to move my wife & I from NYC to Los Angeles in late June, 2011. The movers took our boxes to A-One's warehouse in Brooklyn, stored them for a month, then drove our boxes and furniture across the country. We gave them a "target date" that allowed them two weeks to get to our place in Los Angeles and they were two weeks late from that date.

This was only the beginning of our problems. The movers arrived to our designated delivery point wearing flip-flops and seemed more concerned with being on vacation then professionally delivering our personal items. The moving truck was visibly in disarray with boxes scattered about. They tried to bully us into signing an agreement that all our boxes were accounted for before they started to unload.

They began unloading items that weren't ours and had to be corrected by us that the boxes belonged to someone else. After they were finished, they again hurried and bullied us into signing the agreement that all items were accounted for when we were quite unsure at the time. Our items were being kept in storage until we could move into our new home.

When we finally were able to start unpacking our boxes about three weeks later, we noticed that items were missing that had high sentimental value. We called the company and faxed a letter stating what was missing, going through the procedures they require when items go missing, but have yet to find where are our missing boxes. They are trying to call and contact people that had delivers before & after ours, but not having success contacting or finding our things. They don't scam you, they are just really horrible at their jobs.

If you are looking for a smooth move Do NOT work with Yosef. It turned out to be a nightmare for me. He is dishonest and unorganized. We called the 1 800 number and an agent by the name of Randi picked up and arranged everything. To my surprise, on the day of the move instead of sending one company she sent us TWO moving companies within an hour of each other.

When we called Yosef to complain and ask what was going on he sarcastically laughed and said not to worry. This is completely unacceptable. On top of that, we were quoted for 4 hours of work door to door no hidden costs other than the TV box that he suggested but i was then told on the day of the move that one of the hours was not considered for moving and only for transportation.

He also guaranteed no hidden fees but we had to pay an additional $40 fuel surcharge & additional material charges that they "claimed" they needed. He is completely dishonest and not trustworthy. I asked the guy assigned on the move to talk to Yosef but he did not pick up my phone calls and when I challenged the bill one of the movers said mam we usually do not unload before we get full payment.

This where I got furious and told him what makes you think I am not trustworthy and why shouldn't I think the same of you? I was completely insulted. I am the customer and I am paying for this service therefore he had absolutely no right to treat me or speak to me this way. This company is completely unprofessional and the customer service is HORRIBLE.

This was a 9 mile move and it cost me $725 where the agreement was $440. He will make you think everything is under control but the reality is it is NOT. If you want a smooth move make sure you do not work with an agent like Yosef- ever or a moving company like A1. Make sure you get a signed contract!

I am writing this review for my best friend who used this moving service after a painful divorce. The moving company promised her 3 movers at a predetermined rate. Only 2 showed up 3 hours late they charged her the same amount per hour and broke many of her things. When she complained they threatened her in much worse fashion than their representative threatened a previous reviewer. Don't believe the Better Business Bureau reviews they pay them for that.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! I waited to write this review to cool off and to give them time to make the situation right. well it has been NINE months. they are still giving me the run around! They over-charged, not to mention the hidden costs, and most importantly they BROKE my stuff! Now I am trying to get money for the damaged furniture and they won't even give me the small amount they owe! And they are RUDE! Do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I am not lying, and I don't appreciate you saying that. Everything I wrote is 100% true and this company was harassing me non-stop! Anyone who wants to use this company, I would suggest doing a google search first and see all of the horrible reviews. There are also 2 other bad reviews for this company from others on Yelp. Good luck with your damage control Tracey. Once you scam someone, people will write about it online.

Why didn't they just steal my money at the beginning and just save us all a lot of stress and bother. This was the WORST experience I can imagine having while trying to ship items across the country. These people are rude, unresponsive and generally incompetent. The driver was threatening and lied to me about the terms of payment. And did I mention that they LOST my very valuable, deceased mother's desk? That's right, it just disappeared.

Their answer to the mystery, "this happens." Not only did they not offer to refund the cost of the move ( the only other items shipped were 5 boxes), their offer for the loss: $200.00. They assured me that that was very generous on their part! (The desk was appraised at $20,000.) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you are looking for frustration and the loss of something that means a great deal to you. They should be put out of business.
